No general extension has reopened claims. The deadline to submit an ordinary claim in the AT&T Data Incident Settlement was December 18, 2025. As of October 4, 2026, the settlement website says the court granted final approval on October 2, 2026, but does not announce a new public filing period. If you filed on time, you may still have a notice-specific response to handle; the applicable steps and deadline depend on the notice you received.
Was the AT&T settlement deadline extended?
The official AT&T Data Incident Settlement site does not say the general claim deadline was extended or that claims have reopened. Its stated deadline to submit a claim online or by mail was December 18, 2025. The site’s dated update says the court granted final approval on October 2, 2026. Older statements on some settlement pages that approval was still pending conflict with that update and the listed order granting approval; use the dated update for the current status.
“Extended deadline” may refer to follow-up for a claim already submitted, not a new chance for everyone to file. The September 8, 2026 deadline for responding to a Notice of Deficient Claim Form has passed. A separate 22-day response period applies to certain people whose claim was denied because their class membership could not be verified; it is counted from the date on that person’s notice.
Can I still file an AT&T data breach settlement claim?
If you did not submit a claim by December 18, 2025, the official materials reviewed do not provide a way to file an ordinary claim now. If you did file, check your email and mail for a notice from the settlement administrator and follow the notice’s specific instructions. A notice-response process is not a general reopening of claims.

What the settlement covers
The settlement combines two incidents announced by AT&T in 2024. Eligibility depends on whether your information was included in one or both incidents, not simply on whether you were an AT&T customer.
| Settlement class | Who it covers | Information described by the settlement site |
|---|---|---|
| AT&T 1 | Living people in the United States whose data elements were included in the first incident, announced March 30, 2024. | Combinations of names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, account passcodes, billing account numbers, and Social Security numbers. |
| AT&T 2 | Account owners or line/end users whose data elements were involved in the second incident, announced July 12, 2024. | Customer and interacted-with telephone numbers, interaction counts, aggregate call durations and, for a small subset, cell-site identification numbers. |
| Overlap | People who qualify for both classes. | May seek eligible benefits under both, subject to the settlement’s claim and documentation rules. |
If you are unsure whether you qualify, contact the administrator using the details below. The official documents page identifies the settlement site as the only authorized website for the case: settlement documents.

- WHAT DOES IT COVER: Roll once over names, addresses, account numbers, barcodes, and prescription details on mail, statements, shipping labels, and boxes before recycling. The patented 0.5" masking pattern hides 3 lines of text in one pass.
- HOW MANY USES DO YOU GET: Each pre-inked Guard Your ID Advanced Roller delivers about 1,000 impressions (roughly 100 feet of coverage), so the 3-pack gives you around 3,000. A twist-on cap keeps the ink fresh for a 2-year shelf life.
- DOES IT WORK ON GLOSSY LABELS: Yes, on most glossy and coated surfaces, plus paper, envelopes, junk mail, and prescription labels. Give the ink 10 to 15 seconds to dry on slick surfaces; it is instant on paper. Results vary by coating.
- IS IT REFILLABLE: No, and that is the point. The Advanced Roller is pre-inked and sealed, so there are no refill cartridges to buy, no ink bottles to handle, and nothing to dry out on the shelf. When one runs out, reach for the next roller.
- SHREDDER OR ROLLER: No jams, no paper dust, no noise, and the page stays intact and recyclable. Covers boxes and shipping labels a shredder cannot. Faster than a redacting marker, fits in a drawer. Turquoise, Green, White: mail, office, parent.
What payments did eligible claimants seek?
The figures below are settlement maximums for eligible documented losses, not guaranteed awards. Alternatives were pro rata payments, so actual amounts depend on valid claims and deductions from the settlement fund.
| Class and option | Settlement terms |
|---|---|
| AT&T 1 documented losses | Up to $5,000 for qualifying documented losses incurred in 2019 or later and fairly traceable to the first incident. |
| AT&T 1 tier payment | Eligible claimants could seek a pro rata Tier 1 or Tier 2 payment. Tier 1, for people whose Social Security number was involved, is set at five times the Tier 2 amount. |
| AT&T 2 documented losses | Up to $2,500 for qualifying documented losses incurred on or after April 14, 2024 and fairly traceable to the second incident. |
| AT&T 2 tier payment | Eligible account owners could instead seek a pro rata Tier 3 payment. |
A person eligible in both classes could seek benefits under each. However, documentation supporting separate documented-loss claims must be unique: the same loss evidence cannot be used twice.

What loss documentation counted?
The settlement FAQ says reasonable supporting documentation can include receipts or other records not prepared by the claimant. A claimant’s own statement or affidavit alone is insufficient, although it may help explain other evidence. Potentially eligible, unreimbursed costs included identity-theft or fraud-related expenses, related administrative costs such as postage or copying, and credit-monitoring or mitigation costs. The FAQ identifies medical bills, emotional distress, estimated lost wages or time, credit-score reductions, self-performed services, and reimbursed losses as ineligible.
What should I do if my AT&T settlement claim was denied?
Read the reason and instructions on your individual notice before responding. The settlement FAQ describes a response path for a Notice of Denial when class membership could not be verified: complete the unique response form linked in the notice and mail it to the administrator. The completed form must be postmarked within 22 days of the notice date. The FAQ says not to submit this response by email or through the website contact form.

What if I received a Notice of Deficient Claim Form?
The FAQ instructed recipients to respond using the method specified in their notice by September 8, 2026. For an email notice, it described an online portal; for a mailed notice, it required a mailed response postmarked by that date. That deadline has passed. The FAQ also says not to email supporting documents. Check your notice and contact the administrator promptly to ask whether any next step is available; the published instructions do not establish a new response deadline.
