Artificial Christmas tree prices and inventory can change before Black Friday, so treat any listed offer as a snapshot—not a promised 2026 deal. In a U.S. retailer collection checked October 4, 2026, National Tree Company listed a 9-foot Pre-Lit Charleston Pine for $375.13 against a displayed reference price of $899.99. Balsam Hill, meanwhile, says select trees will be at their best price for the season from September 1, 2026, through January 31, 2027, with no extra Black Friday or Cyber Monday discount on those products. The best buy depends on the exact model, fit, and promotion terms—not the size of the advertised markdown.

Choose a tree that fits before judging its discount
Start with the room and the space available for storage. A lower price does not make a tree a good deal if its height, width, or shape does not work in your home.

- Height and clearance: Measure floor-to-ceiling space and account for the stand and topper. Check the listed assembled height rather than relying on a product name alone.
- Width and profile: Full trees need more floor space; slim and pencil profiles can suit narrower areas. Compare the product’s listed width as well as its height.
- Storage: Consider where the tree will go after the holidays and whether its sections or branches can be stored in the space you have.
National Tree Company’s sale listings demonstrate that profile and height vary across models, but the listings do not establish a universally best size or shape. Choose to your measurements rather than to a discount percentage.
Decide between pre-lit and unlit
Pre-lit trees
A pre-lit tree can reduce the work of adding and arranging lights. Before buying, check whether the lights are clear, multicolor, dual-color, or another configuration, and confirm the lighting details on the exact product page. The National Tree Company examples include clear lights and dual-color LED lights, illustrating why “pre-lit” alone is not a complete specification.

Unlit trees
An unlit tree gives you flexibility to choose and replace lights separately. That may suit shoppers who want a particular light style or prefer not to have lights built into the tree. Compare the tree itself and the cost of any lights you plan to add; the available listings do not establish that either configuration is always cheaper overall.
Read the exact promotion terms
A retailer’s general sale page may not tell you whether a particular tree qualifies for a promotion. Check the terms attached to the model before assuming that a coupon, sitewide offer, or Black Friday discount applies.

Balsam Hill’s published policy is product-specific: it says select trees will be at their best price for the season from September 1, 2026, through January 31, 2027, and says those products will not receive additional Black Friday or Cyber Monday discounts. The stated offer cannot be combined with other sitewide promotions or coupons, and exclusions may apply. Balsam Hill’s general buying guidance also names early-fall promotions, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and post-Christmas or January markdowns as possible shopping periods. For an included product, use its specific posted terms rather than assuming the general timing guidance promises another discount.
Compare the full cost, not just the headline markdown
Before placing an order, compare the same practical details for each candidate. A product collection or announcement is not proof that a model is in stock or that the displayed price includes delivery.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are possible shopping periods, not a guarantee that every artificial tree will receive a new or lower discount. Retailer guidance also points to early-fall promotions and post-Christmas or January markdowns. The right time depends on the model’s posted terms, current availability, and whether waiting risks losing the size or style you want.

For the specific Balsam Hill select trees covered by its September 1, 2026–January 31, 2027 best-price policy, waiting for an extra Black Friday or Cyber Monday reduction is not supported by the retailer’s stated terms. That policy should not be generalized to other Balsam Hill products or other retailers.
