How to judge an asking price for yourself
- Identify the exact watch. Confirm the reference and the specific model rather than relying on a broad label such as “vintage Cartier” or “Daytona.” For the Seiko example, the article names the 6138-8020 “Panda.”
- Separate appeal from mechanics. Decide how much the design, brand identity and model history matter to you, then consider the movement and any alternatives that serve your priorities.
