Yes—old jukeboxes can be worth money, but age and maker alone cannot tell you what a particular machine is worth. The exact model, rarity, originality, condition, completeness, working state, restoration quality, features, provenance and local demand all matter. To answer “What is my jukebox worth?”, identify the machine and compare it with completed sales in similar condition; a broad guide range is only a starting point, not an appraisal.
What is my jukebox worth?
Published estimates illustrate how widely values can vary, but they are not a dependable price for an unidentified jukebox. National Jukebox Exchange’s undated valuation guide, accessed in 2026, gives an illustrative range of $200–$15,000. A separate article by the same specialist, with 2025/2026 date strings, gives $100–$10,000. These ranges come from different guides with different scopes, not a standardized dataset of sales, and should not be treated as current appraisals.
National Jukebox Exchange, a specialist dealer and restorer with an interest in buying and selling machines, says two jukeboxes of the same model and year can differ by several thousand dollars because of originality, mechanism, finish and previous repairs. A model number helps you find relevant comparisons; it does not settle the value.
What drives a vintage jukebox’s value?
Model, rarity and collector demand
Rarity may influence interest, but it is not a value multiplier by itself. National Jukebox Exchange’s guide reports that Wurlitzer produced over 56,000 Model 1015s and roughly 3,400 Model 950s. Those are the guide’s production figures, not independently verified manufacturer records. The guide assesses the rarer 950 at three to five times the value of a 1015, but that is the source’s opinion—not a universal multiplier or proof of a current sale price. Design appeal and condition also affect demand.

Originality, restoration and completeness
Look beyond whether the cabinet appears attractive. Original parts and a well-preserved finish can matter to collectors, while a poor restoration may compare unfavorably with an appealing original survivor. Check the veneer, finish, chrome, plastics, grille cloth, selector parts, coin equipment and mechanism. Note missing or broken components and any aftermarket replacements. A machine that looks complete may still have mechanical or internal issues.
Working condition and features
Record whether the machine works, what is known about its repairs, and whether the mechanism operates as expected. Also document record format and capacity, stereo capability, selector mechanism and distinctive visual features. These details help a specialist or buyer judge how your machine compares with another example; their effect depends on the model and the buyer.

Provenance and location
Documented ownership or a known venue history can add context and, in some cases, collector interest. Any premium is case-specific. Geography matters too: local demand, transport arrangements, auction fees and the difference between a local offer and a sale elsewhere can affect what you ultimately receive. The sources reviewed do not establish standard transport costs, regional price adjustments or auction commissions, so get those figures from the actual dealer or auction house.
How to estimate your jukebox’s value
- Document it safely. Photograph the front, sides, model or data plate, visible mechanism and damage in good light. Do not move or power up an unfamiliar machine just to take photos.
- Write down what you know. Record the make, model, approximate year, visible serial information, working status, record format and capacity, missing parts, repairs and restoration history. Mark unknowns as unknown rather than guessing.
- Find comparable completed sales. Look for the same model, similar condition and a recent sale date. Compare originality, restoration quality, completeness and features—not just the headline number. An unsold asking price is not evidence that a buyer will pay that amount.
- Separate unlike figures. A guide estimate, asking price, auction realized price and dealer purchase offer are different things. Check whether an auction result is a hammer price or includes buyer’s premium, and whether a selling route deducts fees or transport costs before you compare net proceeds.
- Ask a specialist when the stakes warrant it. A rare, restored, inherited, damaged or incomplete machine may merit an appraisal. Ask what the appraisal covers, whether the appraiser also buys machines, what commissions or fees apply, who arranges transport and what you would net from a sale.
Online auction records can help locate examples, but the public aggregation page notes that its selection is limited and warns that past prices do not guarantee current value. Price guides also involve estimates: the Wurlitzer-oriented guide says its figures are compiled from various sources and are not guaranteed for accuracy or completeness.

Who appraises old jukeboxes?
Start with a specialist jukebox dealer, restorer or auction house that can explain its experience with your model and the scope of its opinion. Before relying on a number, ask whether it is an independent appraisal, a likely auction estimate or an offer to buy. Those answers serve different purposes.
National Jukebox Exchange says its appraisal form accepts details such as make and model, condition and photos, and that it buys machines in varied condition. Its page also describes arranging and paying shipping within the continental United States. Because the company is a buyer as well as an appraiser, treat a purchase offer as an offer to acquire your machine, not automatically as an independent fair-market appraisal. Confirm current shipping terms and eligibility directly.

Miller & Miller Auctions says it is accepting quality jukebox consignments and offers a complimentary appraisal consultation. That is a consultation, not a guarantee of a sale or a universal fee schedule; ask the auction house for the terms and costs that would apply to your machine.
Should you sell, restore or keep it?
Decide after comparing realistic routes and net proceeds, rather than choosing based on a guide range or asking price alone. A dealer purchase offer may be simpler than an auction, while an auction consignment may reach collectors but involves its own terms, timing and costs. Get the relevant fees, transport arrangements and expected net amount in writing where possible.

Before paying for restoration, ask a specialist whether the proposed work is likely to improve the machine’s appeal enough to justify its cost. The reviewed sources do not establish a general restoration return, so do not assume that spending more will increase the sale price by the same amount. For a family machine, sentimental value may also matter to your decision even though it is not a market appraisal.
