The application deadline for the 37 Forest Range Officer vacancies advertised by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) in 2024 has passed. That recruitment accepted applications from 15 April through 5 May 2024, closing at 11:59 p.m. APPSC now lists a separate Forest Range Officer notification dated 15 September 2026; applicants should use that notice, not the expired 2024 dates, for current eligibility and application details.
What the 2024 APPSC recruitment notice said
APPSC Notification No. 11/2024 advertised 37 Forest Range Officer posts in the A.P. Forest Service. The notification stated a pay scale of Rs. 48,440–1,37,220. Applications were accepted online from 15 April to 5 May 2024, with the deadline at 11:59 p.m. These are details of that completed recruitment cycle, not current application terms. Who could apply under the 2024 notice
The 2024 notification required a bachelor’s degree in a listed subject. Its subjects included agriculture, botany, chemistry, computer applications or computer science, specified engineering branches, environmental science, forestry, geology, horticulture, mathematics, physics, statistics, veterinary science and zoology. The full notification defines the eligible degree wording and engineering branches; a broad subject label alone may not establish that a particular qualification qualifies. Physical standards and walking test
The notice also set physical standards and timed walking requirements. Measurements varied by sex, with specified height exceptions for certain groups. Applicants should consult the original notification for the exact measurements, exceptions and test rules rather than relying on a general summary.

How selection was structured in 2024
The notice provided for an offline OMR screening test if applications exceeded 200 times the number of vacancies, followed by a computer-based main examination. APPSC said examination dates would be announced separately. The screening-test scheme covered General Studies and Mental Ability/Mathematics, as well as General Forestry; the notification also provided the main-examination syllabus and a one-third penalty for each wrong answer. APPSC made a general computer-based mock-test facility available on its website and advised applicants to check the Commission’s site for updates. It also stated that website information would be final for correspondence. One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) was not an application for a post: candidates still needed to submit the separate post application.

What applicants should do about the 2026 notification
APPSC’s recruitment listing identifies a separate Forest Range Officer Notification No. 16/2026, dated 15 September 2026. The listing establishes that a new notice exists, but its application dates, vacancy breakdown, qualifications, fees, examination scheme and any corrections should be confirmed in the detailed official notice before taking action.
