Important: A shopper buying an M4 MacBook Pro, M4 Mac mini, or M4 iMac could not receive the promotional gift card under this event. The latest Macs were therefore not automatically the best targets for Apple’s promotion.
Education buyers also should not have assumed that an education discount could be combined with the Black Friday gift card. Educational-price purchases were specifically listed among the exclusions.

Could the offer be combined with trade-in or financing?
Trade-in eligibility and any interaction with financing or other programs depended on the original promotion’s terms. Shoppers should not assume that every Apple discount, financing arrangement, or trade-in benefit stacked with the gift-card offer.
One point was clearer: education pricing was excluded. For any other combination, the safest approach was to check the terms for the specific purchase rather than treating the gift card as automatically stackable.
Was Apple’s 2024 offer a good deal?
That depended on the alternative price and whether the buyer would use the gift card. A gift card can be valuable, but it should not be compared with a retailer’s price as though it were an immediate rebate.

- You were already planning to buy directly from Apple.
- You expected to purchase Apple hardware, accessories, apps, or services later.
- You valued Apple’s direct-store support, configuration options, engraving, setup, or trade-in process.
- You were buying a qualifying MacBook Air, particularly the 15-inch M3 model eligible for the $200 reward.
- You preferred Apple’s return and support experience over a retailer’s offer.
When a retailer could be better
- You wanted the lowest upfront price rather than a future credit.
