The promotion is not a promo-code deal, an instant cash rebate or an AirPods bundle.
As of August 9, the offer remains available, although Apple says it is subject to eligible products and promotion gift cards remaining in stock.
What Apple’s 2026 Back to School deal includes
The offer is available through Apple’s U.S. Education Store, participating U.S. Apple Stores and Apple’s phone-sales channel. The value depends on the product family:

The product must be an eligible configuration. Apple’s terms do not extend the promotion to every Mac or iPad. MacBook Neo, Mac mini, standard iPad, iPad mini, Apple Watch and accessories are not listed as qualifying products.

Qualifying product pages in the Education Store show language such as “Today only. Includes a $100 gift card.” Check that wording before adding an item to your bag; the normal education price by itself does not guarantee that the gift-card promotion is attached.
Is the gift card an instant discount?
Not exactly. Apple structures the offer as a promotion product rather than a coupon applied at checkout.
When you buy an eligible MacBook Air with a $100 gift card, for example, the gift card appears in the order and Apple charges for the items in the cart. Apple then applies a matching $100 discount to the eligible product under the promotion terms. You receive the gift card for later Apple spending, not $100 in cash back to your bank account or credit card.
The card can generally be used for eligible purchases at Apple.com, in the Apple Store app, at a physical Apple Store, through 1-800-MY-APPLE, and in the App Store and Apple media services. It can also be redeemed to an Apple Account balance. The card is country- or region-specific, so a card bought through the U.S. offer is for use in the United States.

How to claim the deal online
- Open Apple’s U.S. Education Store Back to School page.
- On the Education Store homepage, find the limited-time offer labeled “Buy Mac or iPad with education savings, get a gift card.”
- Select “Shop Mac” or “Shop iPad.”
- Choose an eligible MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad Air or iPad Pro.
- Select the configuration, such as storage, memory, finish and connectivity options where applicable.
- Before checkout, confirm that the product page says “Includes a $100 gift card” or “Includes a $150 gift card.”
- Add the product to your bag and finish the purchase through the U.S. Education Store.
You can also place a qualifying order at a U.S. brick-and-mortar Apple Store or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. An order placed by August 27 remains eligible even if the product ships after that date, provided the order itself was placed during the promotional period.
Who is eligible?
Apple’s U.S. terms cover these purchasers:
- Employees of public or private K–12 institutions, including homeschool teachers.
- Currently serving elected or appointed school-board members.
- Currently serving elected or appointed PTA or PTO officers.
- Faculty and staff of U.S. higher-education institutions.
- Students attending or accepted into a U.S. higher-education institution.
- Parents buying for a child who is attending or accepted into a U.S. public or private higher-education institution.
Parents of K–12 students are not listed as eligible purchasers for this particular 2026 promotion. That distinction matters: having a child in elementary, middle or high school does not by itself appear to qualify a parent for this offer.
Apple may ask you to prove eligibility before completing the purchase. Depending on the situation, that can involve an active school email address or other documentation. Look for the graduation-cap education indicator on eligible product pages and use the U.S. Education Store rather than the regular consumer store.
Education pricing and the gift card are separate benefits
The promotion combines two things:
- The lower price available through Apple’s year-round Education Store.
- A limited-time Apple Gift Card attached to certain MacBook and iPad purchases.
Do not compare only the gift-card amount with a retailer’s advertised price. For a useful comparison, calculate the net value you expect to receive:

Effective cost = Apple Education Store price − gift-card value you will actually use
For example, a $100 gift card is close to a $100 saving only if you already expect to spend $100 on eligible Apple purchases. If the card sits unused, it is not equivalent to cash. Compare Apple’s final checkout price, the gift card’s practical value to you, sales tax, shipping, AppleCare and the prices of comparable configurations at other retailers.
Purchase limits and exclusions
The main restrictions in Apple’s 2026 U.S. terms are:
- The offer runs only from July 16 through August 27, 2026.
- It is available while qualifying products and promotion products last.
- A qualified purchaser may receive only one promotion product for an eligible Mac purchase and one for an eligible iPad purchase during the promotion.
- Purchases must be made through Apple’s U.S. Education Store, a U.S. Apple Store or 1-800-MY-APPLE.
- Refurbished, open-box and end-of-life products do not qualify.
- Businesses, resellers, government entities, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and enterprise purchasers do not qualify.
- The purchase must be for an individual end user, not institutional buying or resale.
The regular U.S. Education Store also limits annual education purchases. Apple’s published policy generally allows one MacBook and up to two iPads per qualified purchaser per year, subject to its full sales-policy terms.

What happens if you return the Mac or iPad?
Budget carefully before using the gift card. Apple’s offer terms tie the promotion product to the qualifying device.
For a full refund, Apple says both the eligible Mac or iPad and the promotion gift card must be returned. If the gift card has been redeemed, is missing or is not returned, Apple can deduct its full original value from the refund or exchange value. If you keep the Mac or iPad but return the gift card, the promotional pricing no longer applies and Apple can charge the device’s current full price.
Apple’s U.S. Education Store policy generally allows returns within 14 days of receiving the product, subject to its condition, packaging and other stated requirements. Check the current policy before ordering, particularly if you are considering buying the device as a gift or testing it for a short period.
Common claims that do not apply to the U.S. 2026 offer

Before paying, check Apple’s official U.S. Back to School terms and the Education Store sales policies. Product availability, verification requests and the gift-card language shown on a product page are more useful than an old deal post or a retailer search result.

When does Apple’s 2026 Back to School deal end?
The U.S. promotion runs through August 27, 2026. Orders placed during the promotional period can remain eligible even if they ship after August 27, subject to Apple’s terms and availability.
Can parents of K–12 students use the Apple 2026 student deal?
Apple’s published U.S. terms list parents buying for children attending or accepted into higher education, but do not list parents of K–12 students for this promotion. A parent of a college-bound or currently enrolled higher-education student is included.
Can I use the Apple Gift Card for an iPhone?
The gift card can be used for eligible purchases through Apple’s U.S. retail and digital channels, which may include Apple products, accessories, apps and subscriptions. It is not an immediate cash rebate, and it can be used only in the country or region where it was purchased.
What if I return the MacBook or iPad but already spent the gift card?
