Deal coverage has reported the same price at Amazon and called it a record low for this generation, but prices and availability can change; check the final checkout total before buying.
What the $89 AirTag deal includes
Best Buy’s offer is for the 2026 second-generation AirTag four-pack, model MFEA4LL/A—not a single tracker or a third-party Find My-compatible tag. The product page identifies the second-generation model and its features: Best Buy’s product listing.

Best Buy’s promotion page also showed a single AirTag at $24. At those observed prices, buying four individually would cost $96 before tax, so the four-pack saves $7 versus four promoted singles. “Record low” needs a qualification: TechRadar reported $89 as the lowest price it had seen for the second-generation four-pack. That is not an independently verified record across every retailer and sale in the product’s history. The deal is specific to this generation, not a claim about first-generation AirTags or competing trackers.

Why the second-generation AirTag is different
Apple’s second-generation model adds a louder speaker and expanded Precision Finding range. Best Buy describes the speaker as 50% louder than the previous generation. TechRadar reports a 50% increase in Precision Finding range; that does not mean every Find My location update reaches 50% farther.
Precision Finding support depends on hardware. Apple says expanded Precision Finding works with AirTag 2 and iPhone Air or iPhone 15 and later, excluding iPhone 16e; availability varies by region. Precision Finding on Apple Watch requires Series 9 or later, or Ultra 2 or later, running watchOS 26.2.1, and is also subject to regional availability. Other compatible Apple devices can still use Find My features without necessarily supporting that expanded directional finding. Apple’s product details are on its AirTag page.

How AirTag finds an item—and what it cannot do
AirTag is a Bluetooth item finder, not a standalone GPS tracker with its own cellular connection. When an item is nearby, you can use Find My to play a sound and, on supported hardware, use Precision Finding. When it is farther away, its location can be relayed through nearby Apple devices in the Find My network. Best Buy describes those network communications as anonymous and encrypted and says the network includes hundreds of millions of Apple devices; that network size is retailer-provided wording, not a precise independent count.
Location updates are not guaranteed to be continuous or real time. A tag in a remote place with few nearby Apple devices may not report a fresh location often. AirTag is designed to help locate personal belongings, not to continuously track people, vehicles or pets. Apple’s unwanted-tracking protections and audible alerts are relevant to shared-item situations, and AirTag should not be used to monitor someone without consent.

Who should buy the four-pack?
The deal is most compelling for iPhone users who already have four items in mind—for example, keys, checked luggage, a backpack and a frequently misplaced bag. At $22.25 each, the bundle is a straightforward way to outfit several belongings within Apple’s Find My ecosystem. It may also suit a household whose members use Apple devices.
It is less attractive if you only need one tracker or are unsure you will use several. A promoted single at $24 costs just $1.75 more per tag than the bundle’s per-unit price, while letting you try the system before committing. Android-only users should not buy on the assumption that an Android phone can set up AirTags; the setup described by Apple and current product coverage is centered on Apple devices.

Set up each AirTag with an iPhone
- Remove the battery pull tab from the AirTag.
- Hold it near your iPhone and wait for the setup prompt.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, then assign a clear name such as “Keys” or “Checked luggage.”
- Attach it securely with a suitable holder if the item has no pocket or place to contain the tag.
- Open Find My and confirm the AirTag appears before relying on it for a trip.
Apple lists Find My support on iPhone and Apple Watch; TechRadar describes the pull-tab and nearby-iPhone setup flow. The included battery is a user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell. Best Buy says the second-generation AirTag lasts more than a year on a standard replaceable battery; actual life varies with use and battery quality, and the iPhone can alert you when the battery is low.

AirTag has no built-in key-ring hole, and the four-pack does not by itself solve how to attach a tracker to keys or luggage. Best Buy listings observed with the product included a four-pack key-ring case for $13.99, a Belkin wallet insert for $9.99, Belkin secure holders with key rings for $39.99 per four-pack, and a pet-collar holder for $24.99. These accessory prices are additional costs and can change. Best Buy describes AirTag as water resistant, not waterproof; a holder can also help with attachment and surface protection.

These are different products and ecosystems, not direct equivalents. Prices and positioning come from Best Buy’s comparison listings. For a wallet, a card-shaped tracker is usually more practical than AirTag’s round form. For a Samsung phone, choose a tracker built for Galaxy. For continuous vehicle or pet location, compare dedicated GPS products and their service fees rather than treating AirTag as GPS.
