The announcement concerned support for its cloud-based game development work, but neither Anomaly nor the coverage establishes how much funding or cloud credit it received. Google’s currently published program terms are separate from Anomaly’s historical participation.
What Anomaly Games was building
GamesBeat described Anomaly as an AI gaming studio and Layer 3 blockchain innovator. At the time of its report, the company was developing a Layer 3 AI gaming app chain using Arbitrum Orbit and built on Gelato RaaS. That description records the project’s positioning then; it does not establish that the chain is operating today. GamesBeat’s report was published July 11, 2024, and updated June 18, 2025.
The report said Anomaly’s SDK was designed to help developers create and deploy mini-games across social platforms, including Telegram and Discord. It described intended features such as AI-driven matchmaking and decision-making, player-model training, and automated quest creation. Those are company-product claims reported by GamesBeat, not independently benchmarked results.
GamesBeat also said Anomaly used account abstraction to simplify onboarding through social platforms. In infrastructure terms, the report specifically named Google Cloud Storage for web-based experiences, fronted by Global Load Balancers; it did not describe every part of the company’s infrastructure.

What joining Google’s startup program meant
Anomaly CEO Long Do said the company was pleased to expand its relationship with Google Cloud through the program, citing the importance of data to AI in Web3. He also said the program would help reduce deployment lead times and support innovation. These were the CEO’s stated rationale and expectations, not measured outcomes. Anomaly’s LinkedIn post also announced the participation.
The available announcement does not state Anomaly’s award amount, the precise terms it received, or whether it remains in the program. Google’s current published credit limits should not be read as evidence of Anomaly’s 2024 benefit.
