The claim that Andaman & Nicobar Administration has opened TGT recruitment for 380 posts is not verified on the official pages checked on 7 October 2026. The Directorate of Education’s teacher recruitment portal showed notices for PGT and Physical Education Teacher roles, but no TGT notice or 380-post announcement. Do not rely on a reported application deadline, eligibility criteria or vacancy count unless an official notice confirms it.
What the official teacher recruitment portal lists
The Directorate of Education describes its portal as “A common portal for recruitment of Teachers in Education Department of Andaman & Nicobar Administration.” Its visible notices included:
- PGT: July 2026; applications ran from 17 July to 7 August 2026.
- Physical Education Teacher: August 2026; applications ran from 28 August to 17 September 2026.
- PGT (Physical Education): August 2026; applications ran from 28 August to 17 September 2026.
- Craft Instructor: March 2024; applications ran from 11 to 31 March 2024.
The 2026 application windows shown on the portal had closed by 7 October 2026. The portal is the relevant primary source for teacher recruitment notices: Directorate of Education teacher recruitment portal.
Why the 380-post TGT claim remains unverified
The portal’s visible notices did not include TGT recruitment or an announcement of 380 TGT vacancies. A separate Administration eRecruitment portal identified an Agriculture Department advertisement as its ongoing recruitment, with applications listed for 24 September to 23 October 2026. Neither page confirmed the reported TGT opening.
The Administration’s vacancy index also did not establish a 380-post TGT recruitment in the records visible during the check. These page checks do not prove that no notice exists elsewhere or in an archive; they mean the claim is not verified by the official pages reviewed. No named statistic supporting the 380 figure was found there.
A separate October notice is not a TGT vacancy announcement
On 3 October 2026, the Education portal displayed a combined merit list and schedule for skill tests, trade tests and demo classes for various contractual posts under Samagra Shiksha. It was presented as a merit-list and testing-schedule item, not as a new TGT vacancy notice: Education portal notices.

- Open the Education Department teacher recruitment portal and look for an official TGT advertisement, not just a headline or search result.
- Check the notice and any corrigendum published by the Administration. Confirm that they state the post-wise vacancies, subjects, qualifications, age limits and relaxations, pay, selection stages, reservation details, fee and application dates.
- Do not submit an application or make a payment based only on the unverified 380-post claim. The portal lists [email protected] for technical queries; a technical-query contact is not a substitute for an official recruitment notice.
Until an official notice confirms the opening, the number of posts and its terms, no TGT deadline, eligibility rule, selection process, salary or fee can be stated reliably.
