Announced October 21, 2025, code C121 was available to book only through November 1, 2025, for travel through January 31, 2026. It is not a current discount.
What Amtrak’s “Twice as Nice” sale offered
Amtrak’s October 21, 2025 announcement described a companion traveling “for free” when the customer purchased a Roomette booking and applied code C121. The deal was not a general free-ticket offer: it depended on buying the required accommodation, and availability was limited. Amtrak’s announcement set these dates:
- Booking period: October 21 through November 1, 2025.
- Travel period: November 1, 2025 through January 31, 2026.
- Code and requirement: C121 with a Roomette booking.
Both windows have ended, so C121 should not be treated as redeemable now.
Eligible routes and restrictions
Amtrak listed the following eligible services: California Zephyr, Cardinal, City of New Orleans, Coast Starlight, Crescent, Empire Builder, Floridian, Lake Shore Limited, Silver Meteor, Southwest Chief, Sunset Limited, Texas Eagle, and the northbound Auto Train from Sanford, Florida, to Lorton, Virginia.

What Amtrak said a Roomette included
Amtrak described a Roomette as having two seats that convert into upper and lower beds at night. Its announcement advertised upgraded bedding, pillows, towels and linens, complimentary meals, lounge access at major stations, priority boarding, turndown service, room service and luggage assistance. These are the amenities Amtrak promoted for the offer, not an independent assessment of service on a particular trip.

Can travelers use C121 or another companion coupon now?
No: the C121 booking and travel dates have passed. Amtrak’s general coupon instructions explain that a companion coupon may provide a second traveler a discount or free one-way travel, and that a coupon can be applied at the start of booking on Amtrak.com or in the app. Those general instructions do not show that the expired C121 code still works. Check Amtrak’s current offers and the terms attached to any specific coupon before booking.
A separate Amtrak promotion announced December 12, 2025 used code C125 and had different dates and conditions, including a shared itinerary and tickets issued together. It was a distinct sale, not an extension of C121; its terms should not be substituted for the earlier offer. Amtrak’s general Terms and Conditions, version 3.4.18 dated April 10, 2026, say discounts generally cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions unless the specific program terms allow it.
