In the U.S., Amazon says its 2026 event runs October 6–7 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on October 7—2:59 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on October 8. Deals are for Prime members, and a discount label alone does not show that an item is the year’s best buy.
When does October Prime Day end?
Amazon lists the U.S. event as a 48-hour sale on October 6 and 7, 2026. Its stated deadline is 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7, which falls at 2:59 a.m. EDT on October 8 for readers on the East Coast. See Amazon’s event announcement and its Prime Big Deal Days FAQ for the event details.
Dates can differ outside the U.S.; check the Amazon site for your country rather than assuming the U.S. schedule applies. Amazon describes the fall sale as distinct from summer Prime Day, which typically lasts four days. The fall event highlights seasonal shopping, including Halloween, fall entertaining, and holiday gifts.
What is October Prime Day called, and who can shop?
“October Prime Day” is informal shorthand. Amazon’s official name for the fall sale is Prime Big Deal Days. Amazon says the event spans more than 35 categories, including electronics, fashion, home, toys, beauty, grocery, and fitness. Event deals require Prime membership; check the listing for its current eligibility and terms.

How to tell whether a deal is genuinely worthwhile
Amazon promotes some offers as exclusive or deep discounts and uses “lowest price of the year so far” language for some event coverage. Those are Amazon’s claims, not an independent audit of every offer. Before buying, compare the specific listing and its price history instead of relying on the advertised percentage.
- Check price history. Amazon recommends reviewing up to 365 days of price history on eligible product pages or through Alexa for Shopping. History can help put today’s price in context, but it does not prove that the offer is a bargain.
- Confirm the exact product. Match the model, size, color, quantity, and any included bundle to what you intended to buy. A discount on a different configuration is not a like-for-like comparison.
- Review the checkout details. Check the current price, stock, delivery estimate, shipping details, and whether Prime membership is required for that offer.
- Compare the actual price, not just the percentage. A large stated markdown is not evidence by itself that the item is cheaper than its usual price or the best available option.
When do new deals appear?
Amazon says new Today’s Big Deals drop at midnight, 8 a.m., and 1 p.m. PDT. These offers are available only while supplies last, so an item or price may change before you return to it. Amazon also recommends using Wish Lists, the Amazon app, deal alerts, and its Holiday Shop to follow items and seasonal offers. These are Amazon shopping tools, not guarantees of a particular price or availability.

What kinds of offers are featured?
Amazon’s event materials describe offers across many categories, while its live deal roundup highlights examples in areas such as tech, home, beauty, fashion, kids, grocery, and fitness. One named home example is the KitchenAid Ribbed Soft Silicone Oven Mitts, 2-pack, which Amazon lists in its home deals. The item, price, discount, stock, and Prime eligibility can change; verify the current Amazon deal roundup and product listing before treating it as an available offer. A single product example does not represent the event’s full selection.

Amazon describes its own event offers and shopping features; the published event information does not establish independently audited savings across all deals. That means “best” should be a decision you make for each item: verify its current listing, compare its price history where available, and make sure the exact product and delivery terms suit your needs. A deal is only useful if the price is right for the item you actually want.
