Amazon says eligible employees already receive Prime at no extra cost. Separately, the company announced a $1-per-hour raise for eligible U.S. full-time core-operations employees: its stated minimum starting wage is now $20 an hour, effective September 27, 2026, according to the Associated Press. These benefits do not necessarily apply to every warehouse worker, and Amazon’s published materials do not spell out a complete role-by-role Prime eligibility list.
Do Amazon warehouse workers get free Prime?
Some do. Amazon identifies free Prime as an existing benefit for eligible employees, but that wording does not establish that every warehouse worker—or every Amazon employee—qualifies.
In a September 2024 announcement, Amazon said eligible U.S. frontline team members would receive Prime at no additional cost for as long as they remained on the Amazon team. In its September 2026 benefits announcement, the company again listed free Prime among benefits for eligible employees. Neither announcement provides a complete current eligibility matrix by warehouse role, schedule, tenure, employment status, or location. Amazon’s 2024 announcement and its 2026 announcement describe the benefit in terms of eligible employees.
Amazon’s hiring-benefits search listing has indicated that no-cost Prime may be available after 90 days, while noting that benefits can vary by work location, scheduled hours, length of employment, and job type, including regular versus seasonal status. Because the accessible current company materials do not confirm that timing as a universal rule, workers should check the current terms for their role rather than assume a 90-day wait—or immediate eligibility—applies to them.

How much is Amazon raising warehouse pay?
Amazon announced a $1-per-hour increase for eligible U.S. full-time core-operations employees. The company said the increase puts minimum starting pay for those roles at $20 an hour and average hourly pay near $24 an hour. These figures are company-reported; they are not a promise that every worker earns the same amount. Amazon’s September 16, 2026 announcement says the higher pay represents an investment of more than $1.5 billion for U.S. core-operations employees.
| Figure | What it means |
|---|---|
| $20/hour | Amazon’s stated minimum starting wage for U.S. full-time core-operations roles after the increase. |
| Nearly $24/hour | Amazon’s stated average hourly pay for U.S. full-time core-operations employees. |
| More than $32/hour | Amazon’s estimate of average total compensation when benefits are included; this is not hourly cash wages. |
The $32-plus figure includes benefits, so it should not be read as the hourly wage on a paycheck. The wage amounts and total-compensation estimate come from Amazon; the Associated Press report covered the announcement and reported its effective date.

The grocery discount and credit-union membership are not part of the $20 minimum wage or the benefit-inclusive $32-plus compensation estimate.

How to check whether you qualify for employee Prime

- Check the benefits information and enrollment instructions that apply to your role through Amazon’s employee channels or ask your HR contact.
