The 2025 Amazon UK deals are historical, not live bargains
The original TechRadar roundup, “The 85+ best Black Friday deals at Amazon UK”, was published and last updated on 28 November 2025. It covered Kindles, Fire TV devices, laptops, iPads, TVs, headphones, gaming products, cameras, smart-home equipment, appliances and gifts.

Examples included a Kindle at £69.99, a PS5 Slim Digital Edition at £289, AirPods 4 at £99, a DJI Osmo Action 4 at £159 and an M3 iPad Air at £499. Those were Black Friday 2025 prices for specific variants and must not be presented as current 2026 offers.

The page also demonstrated why live deal articles need timestamps: the Fire TV Stick 4K appeared at different prices during separate updates, while some recommendations involved retailers outside Amazon. A product can therefore be a good historical example without being a good purchase today.
What makes an Amazon Black Friday deal genuinely good?
A large percentage saving is not enough. A worthwhile deal should satisfy most of these tests:
- It is near a genuine recent low, not merely discounted from an inflated RRP.
- The product remains competitive against newer models.
- The exact variant is clear: storage, size, colour, connectivity and bundle contents can all change the value.
- The seller and condition are suitable: new, renewed, imported and marketplace listings should not be treated as interchangeable.
- The total cost is acceptable, including subscriptions, accessories, consumables, delivery and installation.
- The warranty and returns position is clear for UK buyers.
In personal-finance terms, the best deal is usually a good product at a good price—not a mediocre product with the biggest advertised discount.

How to read Amazon’s “Was” price
Separate four figures on every deal:
- Current price: what the selected listing costs now.
- Displayed previous price: Amazon’s reference figure, which may not represent the product’s normal street price.
- RRP: the manufacturer’s recommended price, if shown.
- Recent low: the lowest meaningful price found during a defined period.
Amazon says that from 18 May 2026 its reference-pricing calculation will change where more than half of a product’s 90-day history is below the non-promotional median price. Amazon also says its price-history graph shows the lowest Featured Offer price for each day. Read the Amazon reference-pricing notice, but do not treat a displayed “Was” price as proof of a bargain by itself.
A credible deal entry should state the price-check time, the comparison price used and whether the saving is against RRP, a previous Amazon price or a tracked recent price.
What to check before clicking Buy
Seller and fulfilment
Check both “Sold by” and “Dispatched by”. Prefer Amazon, the manufacturer or an established retailer where the price difference is small. Confirm that the item is new rather than renewed or used, and investigate unfamiliar sellers before purchasing.

Coupons and Prime
Some discounts require clipping a coupon, signing in, joining Prime or selecting a particular variant. A Prime trial or membership should not be treated as free if you would not otherwise use it. Verify the current UK price, eligibility and cancellation terms directly on Amazon Prime UK.

A cheap device can create an expensive commitment. Ring doorbells and cameras are a clear example: some features depend on a Ring Protect subscription. Also check cloud-storage fees, printer ink, replacement filters, robot-vacuum bags, batteries and proprietary accessories.
Delivery, warranty and returns
Confirm delivery to your UK address, the estimated arrival date and whether installation or removal of an old appliance costs extra. Imported electronics may have a non-UK plug, different warranty terms, incompatible cellular bands or regional software.

Product-specific traps to avoid
- Gaming: identify disc versus digital consoles, and check whether storage expansion is likely to be needed.
- Laptops: check processor generation, RAM, storage, display, keyboard layout and operating system—not just the headline saving.
- Phones: confirm storage, SIM configuration, network compatibility, software-support expectations and whether the price requires a trade-in.
- TVs: compare panel type, screen size, HDMI features, refresh rate and gaming compatibility.
- Cameras: verify whether the advertised kit includes a battery, charger, memory card or mounting accessories.
- Tablets: distinguish Wi-Fi and cellular versions, storage capacities and whether a keyboard or stylus is included.
- Robot vacuums: basic navigation can make a heavily discounted model poor value, particularly if replacement parts are costly.
- Office chairs: a reduced price does not prove ergonomic suitability; adjustability, fit and returns matter more.
How a reliable 2026 deal roundup should be presented
When live offers are available, each recommendation should show:
- the exact product generation and variant;
- the current price and stated reference price;
- the saving and how it was calculated;
- seller, fulfilment and delivery information;
- coupon, Prime or subscription conditions;
- one or two material drawbacks;
- whether a newer model or better alternative exists;
- the date and UK time it was last checked.
That is more useful than padding a page to reach “85+”. A shorter list of genuinely strong purchases is better for a household budget than dozens of routine price fluctuations.
