A seller promo code applies to a particular promotion and eligible products; Amazon coupons and deals work differently, and Amazon Ads promotional codes are for advertisers—not consumer purchases.
Are there Amazon promo codes?
Yes, but the phrase can mean different things. Amazon sellers can create product promotions with claim codes, also called promo codes. Whether a code works depends on the promotion’s eligible products, dates, marketplace, and other terms. Amazon’s seller guide describes percentage-off and buy-one-get-one-free promotion types; it does not establish a universal code for all Amazon orders. Amazon’s seller guide explains how these offers are set up.

Amazon Ads also issues promotional codes for qualifying advertising activity. Those offers are aimed at advertisers and do not discount a shopper’s retail order. A code’s label alone is not enough to establish who can use it or what it discounts.
How Amazon promotions differ
| Offer type | Who it is for and what it applies to | Is a code required? |
|---|---|---|
| Seller promotion or claim code | A seller-created promotion for specified products; Amazon describes percentage-off and buy-one-get-one-free types. | A seller may configure a claim code. The promotion’s terms determine its scope. |
| Amazon coupon | A customer-facing product discount displayed on product detail pages and elsewhere in the store. | No. Amazon’s seller guide says these coupons do not use coupon codes. |
| Deal | A limited-time offer, including Lightning Deals and Best Deals as described by Amazon. | No code; the seller guide says the deal is applied automatically. |
| Price discount | A seller campaign that lowers a product’s price for a limited period and number of units. | No seller price-discount code, according to the guide. |
| Amazon Ads promotional code | An advertiser incentive tied to qualifying ad activity and offer requirements. | Yes, but it applies to the specified advertising offer, not a retail checkout. |
These distinctions come from Amazon’s seller guidance and the applicable Amazon Ads offer terms. They do not establish that different discounts can be combined. Check the terms of each offer before assuming they stack.
Where do I enter an Amazon promo code?
There is no single code-entry path that applies to every Amazon promotion. First identify what kind of offer you have and who issued it. A seller claim code must be used according to that specific promotion’s instructions and terms; a coupon shown on a product page does not require a coupon code, and a deal is applied automatically under Amazon’s seller guide.

- If the offer is a product coupon: look for it on the product detail page and follow the on-page instructions. Amazon says these coupons do not use coupon codes.
- If it is a deal: the seller guide says the deal is applied automatically; verify the displayed offer and price before completing the purchase.
- If it is a seller claim code: use the redemption instructions associated with that particular promotion. The guide does not establish one universal entry location for all codes.
- If it is an Amazon Ads code: follow the advertiser offer’s redemption and campaign requirements. It is not for a consumer shopping cart.
Why might an Amazon promo code not work?
A code can fail when the offer does not match the shopper, product, marketplace, timing, or required action. Read the offer terms rather than treating a code as a general Amazon discount.
- Wrong audience or purpose: an advertiser code is for qualifying ad activity, not a retail order.
- Product not eligible: seller promotions are scoped to particular products; a code need not apply to every item in a seller’s store.
- Marketplace mismatch: a promotion may be limited to a specified Amazon marketplace.
- Dates or redemption limits: the offer may have expired or reached its permitted redemptions.
- Required action not completed: some offers require a qualifying purchase or campaign launch, as described in their terms.
- Assumed stacking: do not expect multiple offers to combine unless their terms say they can.
Check the exact product, account or audience eligibility, marketplace, dates, minimum requirements, and redemption instructions on the offer itself. If the code is for advertising, consult the Amazon Ads terms rather than consumer checkout guidance.
Amazon Ads promo codes are a separate advertiser offer
For example, the Sponsored Products offer terms cited by Amazon Ads describe an incentive for advertisers entering a marketplace where they have not advertised before. After redeeming the code, an eligible advertiser must launch a first qualifying Sponsored Products campaign with no end date within 14 days. The terms state that the offer ends when maximum redemptions are reached or the promotional period ends, whichever comes first; the listed offer gives December 31, 2026, at 23:59 UTC as its period end. These are advertiser terms, not a consumer shopping discount. Eligibility and remaining redemptions can change, so check the live offer before relying on it. See Amazon Ads’ Sponsored Products promo code terms.
Amazon Business shared-payment promotions
Amazon Business announced on February 20, 2025, that customers using shared payment methods can redeem coupons or promotional codes. The release note lists availability in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, India, and Mexico. This is a feature for Amazon Business accounts using shared payments; it does not mean a universal code is available to ordinary retail shoppers. Read the Amazon Business release note.
