Amazon Canada’s 2025 Prime Day ran July 8–11, making it a four-day sale for Prime members. The dates are now historical: Amazon scheduled its next Canadian event for June 23–26, 2026, so Prime Day does not have a fixed July date. U.S.–Canada trade tensions formed part of the 2025 backdrop, but the available evidence does not show that tariffs caused a particular Amazon.ca price or discount.
When was Prime Day in Canada?
Amazon Canada scheduled Prime Day 2025 for July 8–11, beginning at 12:01 a.m. PDT. Amazon described it as its first four-day Prime Day, with hundreds of thousands of deals across categories including fashion, beauty, home appliances, toys, electronics and daily essentials. July is not a dependable annual date. Amazon scheduled the 2026 Canadian event for June 23–26, while its 2024 event took place July 16–17. The dates and duration can vary by year. See Amazon Canada’s 2026 announcement and its 2024 announcement.
What did Amazon say would be on offer?
Amazon’s 2025 preview named Echo devices, Fire tablets, Fire TV devices and eero systems, alongside products from brands such as Samsung, adidas, Levi’s, L’Oréal, Clinique and LEGO. These were examples in Amazon’s event preview, not independent assessments of product quality or proof that any offer remains available.

Prime Day is an Amazon shopping event with deals and discounts for Prime members. Amazon’s 2025 announcement also described an Aeroplan eStore promotion: eligible purchases made through that channel from July 8–11 could earn up to 10 times Aeroplan points. That was a specific, dated offer—not a general Amazon discount or a standing benefit. Confirm any current promotion’s terms directly before relying on it. How did the trade dispute relate to Prime Day?
The sale took place amid U.S.–Canada trade tensions, but timing alone does not establish that tariffs changed a particular Prime Day price. The official Canadian event announcement reports the dates and sale categories; it does not quantify tariff effects on Canadian Amazon deals or connect a tariff to the price of a named product.

A later statement from the Prime Minister of Canada, dated August 22, 2025, described the government’s assessment of U.S. tariff measures. It reported that the actual U.S. average tariff rate on Canadian goods was 5.6% and that more than 85% of Canada–U.S. trade was tariff-free at that time. The statement also said Canada would remove tariffs on U.S. goods covered under CUSMA effective September 1, 2025, while retaining tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos. - Confirm the exact model: Similar product names can refer to different generations, sizes or configurations.
- Check the price history: Compare the current listed price with a tracked prior price rather than relying on a crossed-out reference price alone.
- Include delivery and returns: Review shipping charges, delivery timing and the return policy before deciding.
- Separate discounts from rewards: An Aeroplan points offer through the eStore is distinct from an Amazon price reduction; check eligibility and terms for each.
- Check membership requirements: Prime Day deals are for Prime members, according to Amazon’s event description.
Amazon’s previews establish which categories and examples it promoted, not which retailer or item offered the best value. Amazon’s 2024 announcement quoted Jamil Ghani, its vice president of Amazon Prime, describing Prime Day as a member-value event; that is the company’s characterization, not an independent evaluation.
