Amazon reported record results but did not disclose a specific sales total; Adobe separately estimated $24.1 billion in online spending across U.S. retailers during those dates. Those figures measure different things.
When was Amazon Prime Day 2025 in the U.S.?
Amazon’s U.S. event began at 12:01 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, and ran through Friday, July 11. Amazon called it the first four-day U.S. Prime Day. Amazon’s June 16 announcement gives the U.S. dates and start time.
Those dates were not universal. Amazon Japan announced its main Prime Day for July 11–14, preceded by an early sale from July 8–10. Amazon Japan’s announcement shows why a global summary should not treat the U.S. schedule as every marketplace’s schedule.
How long was Prime Day 2025?
The U.S. event lasted 96 hours—four days. That was an extension from the shorter U.S. format Amazon had used previously, and it gave shoppers more time to encounter rotating offers. The duration refers to the scheduled event, not a guarantee that every individual deal remained available throughout it.

What kinds of deals did Amazon advertise?
Amazon said it would offer millions of deals across more than 35 categories. Its examples included fashion, beauty, groceries, household essentials, electronics, school supplies, books, toys, and pet essentials. The category count and deal volume are Amazon’s descriptions, not an independent audit.
Daily themed drops
The 2025 event introduced “Today’s Big Deals,” themed daily deal drops. Amazon said new offers would appear at midnight PDT, alongside limited-time deals during selected periods. These formats made the event more than a fixed list of offers, but they also meant a deal’s timing and availability could vary.

Amazon’s June 30 event preview outlined planned offers and categories. An advertised discount alone does not establish that an item was at its lowest recent price; the cited event materials do not verify historical lows for every offer.
What were the best-selling items?
In its July 12 recap, Amazon named the Ring Battery Doorbell and Fire TV Stick HD among the event’s best sellers. The recap did not provide unit counts or product-level revenue, and it does not establish that either product is currently discounted or available at a particular price. How much did shoppers spend during Prime Day 2025?
There is no specific Amazon Prime Day revenue total in the cited company recap. Amazon said the event was its biggest Prime Day yet by its stated comparisons: it reported record sales and more items sold than in any previous four-day period that included a Prime Day. Those are Amazon’s company-reported claims, not a disclosed revenue figure. CEO of Amazon Worldwide Stores Doug Herrington said, “This year’s extended Prime Day event delivered incredible savings to our members across millions of deals.” That is Amazon’s characterization of its event.
Adobe Digital Insights estimated $24.1 billion in online spending at U.S. retailers from July 8–11, 2025, up 30.3% year over year. This is a third-party estimate for U.S. retail overall, not Amazon sales and not spending proven to have been caused exclusively by Prime Day. Adobe said its analysis covered more than one trillion visits to U.S. retail sites, 100 million SKUs, and 18 categories. Its July 12 report explains the broader measurement scope.

Back-to-school shopping beyond Amazon
Adobe reported that school-supplies spending rose 175% and dorm-essentials spending rose 84% against its comparison baseline during the period. These are Adobe’s category estimates across U.S. retail, not Amazon-specific results. The figures show how strongly back-to-school shopping featured in the wider online retail activity around the event.
What the 2025 results do—and do not—show
- Event length: Amazon scheduled a 96-hour U.S. event, July 8–11.
- Amazon performance: Amazon reported record sales and items sold relative to the previous four-day periods that included Prime Day, but did not state a total event revenue figure in the cited recap.
- Retail-wide spending: Adobe estimated $24.1 billion in U.S. online retail spending across the four dates; it was not an Amazon-only total.
- Product-level evidence: Amazon named two best sellers but did not publish their unit counts or establish current prices.
Because Prime Day 2025 is over, its historical promotions should not be treated as current deals. Any present-day price or availability requires checking the current listing and price history.
