It is available only when Amazon displays the offer for the product and account. Amazon says the plan itself has no interest or finance charges, though your payment provider may charge fees or interest.
How Amazon Monthly Payments works
When the offer appears on a product page or at checkout, you can select it and authorize Amazon to charge your chosen payment method. Amazon says eligibility can depend on account information, such as purchase history, or the product’s price. The offer is not available for every product or customer, and Amazon may limit the number of plans you have open.
Amazon states, “We will not use a credit report to determine your eligibility.” That describes Amazon’s eligibility decision for its Monthly Payments offer; it does not establish how a separate card issuer or financing provider may assess you.
You need at least one valid credit card on your account that expires no earlier than 20 days after the final payment due date. If Amazon cannot charge the selected payment method, it may try another payment method on file.

What you pay and when
The offer divides the product price into an initial payment and later installments. The initial payment is charged when the item ships. Amazon’s example of a five-payment plan has four subsequent installments due 30, 60, 90 and 120 days after shipment. This is an example, not a fixed schedule for every offer: check the dates and payment count shown for your purchase and on the Manage Monthly Payments page. If the price does not divide evenly, the final payment may be smaller.
Applicable tax, shipping and add-on charges are assessed in full with the initial payment when the item ships. Amazon says it does not add interest or finance charges to its Monthly Payments offer, but the provider of your payment method may assess interest, finance charges or fees. Check that provider’s terms as well as Amazon’s displayed schedule.

How to check your offer and schedule
- Open the product page and look for Monthly Payments among the displayed purchase or payment options.
- If you do not see it there, check the payment options during checkout. The offer must be displayed for your product and account to use it.
- Before placing the order, review the payment count, initial charge, later due dates and total amounts shown at checkout.
- After ordering, open Amazon’s Manage Monthly Payments page to view the plan’s current schedule and remaining balance.
Can you pay early, return the item or miss a payment?
Paying early
Amazon allows you to pay the next scheduled installment early or pay the full remaining balance.
Missed or failed charges
If a payment cannot be collected, Amazon may try another payment method on file. Its terms also reserve remedies that can include suspending or terminating the Amazon account. For an Amazon device purchased through the plan, Amazon may deregister the device, which can block access to Amazon content and services. A warranty replacement does not cancel the amount still owed for the original purchase.

Returns and refunds
Returns follow Amazon’s standard returns policy. If Amazon issues a refund, it is reduced by any installment-plan balance still outstanding.
Do not confuse Monthly Payments with other financing offers
Amazon’s Monthly Payments offer is distinct from other payment programs that may appear on Amazon or at merchants using Amazon Pay. The provider, eligibility rules, interest terms and consequences can differ.

What to verify before choosing it
- Confirm the option is specifically labeled Monthly Payments, not Store Card Equal Monthly Payments, Affirm or Citi Flex Pay.
- Check the initial charge, which includes applicable tax, shipping and add-on charges, and note the later installment dates and amounts.
- Review any charges your selected card or payment provider may impose.
- Make sure the payment method meets Amazon’s validity requirement and can cover scheduled charges.
- Read the return terms and consider how a refund is affected by any remaining balance.
