Amazon India’s 2026 Great Freedom Sale ran from August 7 to August 12, and its announced 10% instant discount applied to HDFC Bank credit card and EasyEMI transactions. The sale has ended; the discount is not currently available. Amazon called the event the “Great Freedom Sale,” rather than the “Great Freedom Festival Sale.”
When was Amazon India’s 2026 Great Freedom Sale?
Amazon India announced on August 3 that the sale would begin at 12:00 AM on August 7 on Amazon.in. A final-day notice published August 11 said it would end on August 12, 2026. The event is over as of October 7, 2026. See Amazon’s August 3 announcement and its August 11 final-day notice.
Which transactions qualified for the announced 10% discount?
Amazon described a 10% instant discount on HDFC Bank credit card and HDFC Bank EasyEMI transactions. The announcement does not establish that every HDFC card, every purchase, or every transaction qualified, and it does not give detailed exclusions, minimum spends, or a discount cap. Do not treat the headline offer as a blanket discount across all cards or products. The terms were stated in Amazon India’s sale announcement.
How did the other announced payment offers differ?
Amazon separately promoted cashback rewards and no-cost EMI. These were distinct offer categories, not additions to or alternative descriptions of the HDFC 10% instant discount.

Amazon described a broad sale spanning categories such as smartphones, fashion, beauty, home and kitchen, large appliances, groceries, and everyday essentials. Its announcement did not identify a single featured product as the focus of the event, nor does it establish that every item in those categories received the card discount.
