Amazon Coins is discontinued. Amazon stopped selling Coins on February 20, 2025, and set August 20, 2025, as the final date customers could use previously purchased Coins. That deadline has passed, so Coins can no longer be bought or used under the announced program.

Can you still buy or use Amazon Coins?
No. Amazon’s announced purchase cutoff and final use date have both passed. Previously purchased Coins were usable only through August 20, 2025; Amazon’s announcement does not describe a later way to spend them.
What if you had Coins left in your account?
Amazon’s announcement establishes the deadline for using Coins, but it does not establish a universal refund or recovery outcome for balances remaining after that date. Do not assume that an unused balance was automatically refunded or that it can still be redeemed. If you need an account-specific answer, contact Amazon Customer Service and ask whether any remedy applies to your account; the announcement alone does not guarantee one.
#1 Best Overall
- Amazon.com Gift Cards never expire and carry no fees.
- Multiple gift card designs and denominations to choose from.
- Redeemable towards millions of items store-wide at Amazon.com or certain affiliated websites.
- Available for immediate delivery. Gift cards sent by email can be scheduled up to a year in advance.
- No returns and no refunds on Gift Cards.
Does the end of Coins mean the Amazon Appstore also closed?
No. Amazon separately said the Appstore would continue to be available and supported on Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and Fire TV built-in products. That statement concerns Appstore support on those devices, not Coins: continued access to the Appstore does not restore the discontinued Coins program.

Amazon’s February 20, 2025 announcement is the basis for the program’s sale cutoff, end date, and final stated use date. It does not establish every customer’s post-deadline balance outcome. It also does not, by itself, establish historical conversion rates, discounts, or marketplace-specific denominations, so those figures should not be relied on without a source that verifies them.
