Amazon.ca’s Nintendo Switch 2 System listing says the console is sold by invitation: shoppers can request one, but Amazon says it cannot grant every request. If invited, you receive an email with a purchase link that is valid for 22 hours. This applies to the Canadian listing; check your own Amazon country site because the same requirement has not been established for every marketplace.
How Amazon.ca’s Switch 2 invitation works
On its Nintendo Switch 2 System listing, Amazon.ca says it uses invitations to help genuine customers buy a high-demand item. The listing explains that requesting an invitation does not guarantee one: Amazon says it will not be able to grant all requests.

- Open the Nintendo Switch 2 System listing on Amazon.ca and check whether it currently offers the invitation option.
- Use the on-page option to request an invitation, if it is available.
- If Amazon invites you, look for its email and follow the purchase link within the stated 22-hour validity window.
The 22-hour period is the validity Amazon.ca gives for the purchase link, not a promise that every request will be accepted or that stock will be available elsewhere. The listing’s terms and availability can change, so read the live page before acting.
Does every Amazon store require an invitation?
This invitation information is specific to Amazon.ca. It does not establish that Amazon.com or other national Amazon storefronts use the same process. Visit the product page for your country and follow the purchase method shown there; a listing may change between invitation sales and open purchasing as availability changes.

Which Nintendo Switch 2 is the listing for?
The Amazon.ca listing identifies the product as the Nintendo Switch 2 System. It describes a package with Joy-Con 2 controllers, a dock, AC adapter, USB-C charging cable, grip, straps and an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable. Nintendo announced the console’s launch for June 5, 2025. Its launch announcement gave a U.S. suggested retail price of $449.99, which is historical launch pricing, not a current Canadian or U.S. quote.
Nintendo reported that more than 3.5 million units were sold worldwide in the first four days after launch, according to its June 11, 2025 release. That is a historical launch-period figure, not a current sales total. Nintendo also announced a Japan-only, Japanese-language bundle scheduled for November 12, 2026 at ¥63,980; that announcement does not describe Amazon.ca availability.
