What the Amazon Big Spring Sale was
Amazon promoted the Big Spring Sale as a standalone retail event, separate from Prime Day. The 2026 sale was available in the United States and Canada, and Amazon included Mexico for the first time. The U.S. schedule was based on Pacific Time, not a separate midnight deadline for each time zone.
Amazon advertised discounts across more than 35 categories, including fashion, beauty, Easter products, kitchen, home, lawn and garden, grocery, electronics, travel, cleaning, and organization. An “up to” figure describes the best qualifying discount Amazon advertised within a category. It does not mean that a $100 item in that category automatically sold for $50, $60, or any other particular price.
Did you need Prime to shop?
No. Anyone could shop the general Big Spring Sale. Prime members had access to extra offers identified by the Prime Spring Deal badge, according to Amazon’s event FAQ.
Amazon’s published U.S. Prime prices at the time were $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Eligible customers could also start a free 30-day trial. These prices and trial details were listed in Amazon’s Big Spring Sale deal guide. A trial only makes financial sense if you remember to cancel before it converts to a paid membership and if the shipping or shopping benefits are worth using beyond the sale.

How the deals were organized
Amazon promoted several ways to browse the event rather than placing every offer in one uniform discount list:

- Top 100+ Health & Wellness
- Top 100+ Spring Favorites
- Doorbuster deals
- Daily themed drops such as Easter Essentials, Home Refresh, Spring Beauty, Spring Cleaning, and Travel Must-Haves
The three “Top 100+” lists were presented as a new feature for the 2026 event. Product pages also used “Shop the deal” buttons and the Prime Spring Deal label for qualifying Prime offers.

Daily deal drops began at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time and were intended to run for 24 hours, according to Amazon’s deal guide. That daily schedule was separate from the overall sale opening time of 12:01 a.m. PDT on March 25. Amazon warned that prices, inventory, and availability could change, and a deal could sell out before its advertised period ended.
What shoppers should have checked before buying
- Compare the current price with price history. A discount percentage is less useful than the actual price you would have paid recently. Amazon promoted its Price History tool for this purpose.
- Check the exact variation. A deal may apply to one size, color, pack count, or seller while other versions remain at regular price.
- Read the checkout total. Include shipping, taxes, minimum-order requirements, and any coupon that must be selected manually.
- Review the seller and return terms. Marketplace products can have different sellers, delivery estimates, warranties, and return conditions.
- Set a spending limit before browsing. A low unit price is not a saving if it causes an unplanned purchase or replaces money needed for bills.
- Use price alerts or a shopping list. Lists, Buy Again, and Keep Shopping For can help you compare planned purchases instead of responding to every countdown timer.
Amazon also promoted Rufus, its shopping assistant, for deal discovery and product questions. It described an Auto Buy feature that could allow Rufus to purchase an item automatically when it reached a target price. Amazon Lens, accessed through the camera icon in the search bar, was another shopping tool; Amazon describes it in its Amazon Lens article. Automatic purchasing is convenient, but it should be used cautiously: confirm the target price, payment method, shipping address, and cancellation settings before enabling it.

Amazon separately highlighted Amazon Haul during the event. Its limited-time promotions included some products priced at $1 or less, spring fashion at $5 or less, and children’s spring clothing at $4 or less, as listed in Amazon’s deal guide.

Those were selected promotional offers, not representative prices for the entire Big Spring Sale. Before buying an unusually cheap item, check the estimated delivery date, product specifications, seller information, return policy, and whether the low price reflects a small size or quantity.
Location-specific and grocery restrictions
Not every offer was available everywhere. Some Easter grocery promotions were tied to Same-Day Delivery in eligible locations. Whole Foods promotions had their own dates and eligibility conditions, and delivery availability depended on the address associated with the account.
That means a discount shown in an advertisement might not appear after you enter your ZIP code or select a delivery window. Grocery savings should also be measured against local supermarket prices, delivery fees, membership requirements, and the risk of buying more perishable food than you can use.
