Amazfit’s 2026 Watch Launches: What’s New and How Garmin Fits In

A March forecast, eight announced products and a growing training-platform pitch explain Amazfit’s 2026 push—and what the Garmin comparison does and does not show.

Amazfit’s 2026 release slate is substantial, but “flood” needs a qualification: in March, Zepp Health expected to launch about as many products as the roughly nine it had launched the prior year, or slightly more. By October 4, the company’s official archive listed eight 2026 announcements across watches and one body-worn strap. The launches point to a broader push into premium outdoor gear and connected training—not proof that Amazfit has declared a head-to-head contest with Garmin.

What Zepp forecast—and what Amazfit has announced

In a March 18, 2026 report, T3 reported that Zepp Health expected a 2026 release pace similar to, or slightly above, the roughly nine products launched the previous year. That was a forecast at the time, not a confirmed promise that every planned product would ship.

Zepp Health owns Amazfit. Its official release archive listed these 2026 announcements by October 4:

Announcement date Product Category
February 19, 2026 T-Rex Ultra 2 Watch
February 26, 2026 Active 3 Premium Watch
April 16, 2026 Cheetah 2 Pro Watch
May 13, 2026 Cheetah 2 Ultra Watch
June 2, 2026 Balance 3 and Balance Ultra Two watches
June 18, 2026 Helio Strap Pro Body-worn strap, not a watch
September 22, 2026 T-Rex Dual Solar Watch

That is eight listed product announcements if each named model is counted separately, including the strap. The archive confirms announcements; it does not establish shipment volumes, availability in every market, or independent product performance.

Why the release slate matters to Amazfit’s strategy

Zepp is describing a shift from selling devices alone toward a connected training system. In T3’s March report, Zepp Health CEO Wang Huang said, “We have been transforming Zepp from a traditional wearable hardware company into what we call a hybrid training platform.” He also said, “Our goal is not simply to launch competitive devices, but to build a broader performance system that integrates endurance, strength, and recovery.”

Balance 3 and Balance Ultra: training plus recovery data

Amazfit presents the Balance 3 and Balance Ultra as the hardware layer of that hybrid-training approach. The company says its Zepp App links training with recovery, sleep, stress, and lifestyle data. CEO Wayne Huang described the intended approach in Amazfit’s June 2 announcement: “The future of training is not about doing more without direction. It is about training with structure,”

  • BIOCHARGE ENERGY MONITORING: Your BioCharge score adjusts based on your daily workouts and stress levels to help you understand when to push harder and when to rest, so you can train smarter and recover better.

That explains the strategic emphasis, but it is company positioning, not independent evidence that the watches’ coaching or recovery features outperform competitors. The reviewed announcement does not provide a controlled comparison against Garmin devices.

T-Rex Dual Solar: the outdoor and expedition angle

Amazfit positions the T-Rex Dual Solar as an expedition watch, highlighting dual-sided solar, maps, route-planning tools, and extended battery potential. Its UK launch price was £649.90, according to Amazfit’s announcement; that is a regional launch price and may change.

Amazfit Active 2 Premium Smart Watch 1.32" Sapphire Glass, GPS, iOS/Android

  • UP TO 10 DAYS OF BATTERY LIFE: With long battery life that lasts up to 10 days with typical use, nightly recharges are a thing of the past.
  • FREE MAPS WITH TURN DIRECTIONS: Stay on-track with free downloadable maps, and get turn-by-turn guidance on-screen or via your Bluetooth headphones. Enjoy ski maps for global resorts, including guidance for cable cars, slopes, and more.
  • FASTER AND MORE ACCURATE GPS TRACKING: 5 satellite positioning systems ensure fast GPS connection and accurate positioning whenever you're out running, walking, cycling or hiking.

Amazfit states typical battery life of up to 25 days. It also claims up to 34 days when the watch receives three hours of daily exposure at 50,000 lux. Both figures come from the manufacturer’s stated typical-use testing conditions; they are not independently tested results. The solar figure is tied to a specific daily light-exposure condition, so it should not be read as a guaranteed runtime for every user.

How the Garmin comparison holds up

The Garmin angle is timely because Garmin announced the fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro in August 2026, placing both brands in the premium outdoor and sports-watch conversation. Garmin lists US starting prices of $999.99 for the fēnix 9 and $1,099.99 for the fēnix 9 Pro. Garmin says the Pro models include satellite and LTE connectivity. Those are US starting prices and manufacturer-listed features, not a like-for-like test against Amazfit.

Amazfit Balance 3 Smart Watch, 1.5" AMOLED Sapphire Glass, iOS/Android
  • DUAL-BAND GPS & OFFLINE MAPS: Navigate confidently with dual-band positioning and six satellite systems. Use offline maps, turn-by-turn navigation, and automatic rerouting to stay on track without your phone.
  • 21-DAY BATTERY: Get up to 21 days of battery life on a single charge, and never worry about forgetting your charger on trips. Enjoy long battery life performance from work, to workouts, to weekend trips.
  • AMOLED SCREEN & BUILT-IN FLASHLIGHT: A large 1.5" AMOLED screen protected by sapphire glass is easy to read in bright daylight or night. Stay safe and visible in low-light conditions with the built-in white or tactical red flashlight.
  • NO SUBSCRIPTION APP: Health, recovery, and workout data is free to access in the included Zepp App. Track calories and protein goals.
  • APP CONNECTIONS & HYROX TRAINING: Use fitness apps like Strava, TrainingPeaks, Intervals.ICU to share workouts. Improve HYROX training with built-in HYROX training plans and Virtual Pace simulations.

Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing Susan Lyman said, “fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro are purpose-built for those who want to perform better and venture farther.” The statement appears in Garmin’s August 25 press release. The overlap in intended outdoor and performance use makes the competitive framing reasonable; the available evidence does not show that Amazfit has explicitly declared Garmin its target.

Buyer question What the available announcements establish
Outdoor navigation Amazfit highlights maps and route-planning tools for T-Rex Dual Solar. The cited Garmin announcement identifies satellite connectivity on fēnix 9 Pro; it does not establish a controlled navigation comparison.
Training and recovery Amazfit describes Balance 3/Ultra and the Zepp App as parts of a system linking training and recovery-related data. The cited material does not establish comparative coaching quality.
Connectivity Garmin says fēnix 9 Pro includes satellite and LTE connectivity. The cited Amazfit announcements do not establish directly comparable connectivity specifications.
Battery Amazfit publishes T-Rex Dual Solar figures tied to its stated use and light-exposure conditions. The cited Garmin release does not provide a directly comparable figure here.
Price Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar: £649.90 UK launch price. Garmin fēnix 9: $999.99 US starting price; fēnix 9 Pro: $1,099.99 US starting price. Different markets and price bases prevent a direct price ranking.
Availability The cited archive and announcements confirm launches, not universal availability or shipment volumes.

What a watch buyer should take from the launches

  • If you want Amazfit’s stated direction in one place, look at the Balance line and how its Zepp App is meant to connect training with recovery data.
  • If outdoor route planning and solar-assisted endurance are priorities, assess the T-Rex Dual Solar against your actual navigation needs and remember that its battery figures are manufacturer claims under specified conditions.
  • If satellite and LTE connectivity are central, Garmin explicitly lists them for the fēnix 9 Pro; the cited Amazfit material does not establish an equivalent feature set.
  • Check local pricing and availability before comparing costs. The figures cited here are a UK launch price for one Amazfit model and US starting prices for two Garmin models.

There is no independent head-to-head test in the cited material, so the releases support a comparison of stated priorities and features—not a universal winner.
