Amazon Sponsored Products and Etsy Ads reach shoppers searching within their respective marketplaces; Pinterest keyword ads can reach people searching for ideas on Pinterest. These channels serve different audiences, so the right choice depends on where your customers search and where your products are sold.

Microsoft Advertising Search: the broad web-search option
Microsoft describes Search ads as a way to reach people searching for products, services or information related to a business. Its search network can include Bing and partner properties such as AOL, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Ecosia; which properties carry a campaign depends on its ad distribution settings. See Microsoft’s Search ads overview and Microsoft Advertising Network documentation.
Before scaling, inspect the campaign’s distribution settings and, where reporting allows, compare performance by network. Partner traffic should not automatically be assumed to behave like Bing traffic. Microsoft also offers audience advertising, but that is distinct from search: its documentation distinguishes people who have demonstrated interest by searching from people reached while interacting with websites. Count the former as search traffic, not every impression bought through the platform.
Microsoft lists controls including location, age, schedule, device, gender and profile in its target-audience guide. These are campaign controls, not guarantees of reach or results.
Amazon Sponsored Products: reach shoppers on Amazon
Sponsored Products appear on relevant Amazon search results and product detail pages. Amazon’s guide describes manual keyword targeting for placing products in shopping results and product detail pages. This can suit a seller whose offer is already listed on Amazon and whose likely customers shop there; it is not a general substitute for search campaigns that generate leads for services or businesses outside the marketplace. Details are in Amazon Ads and the Sponsored Products targeting guide.
Pinterest keyword ads: reach searches for ideas
Pinterest keyword targeting is designed to reach people as they search for a specific idea on Pinterest, and search results are among the placements described in its targeting guidance. That makes it a possible test for visually discoverable products or categories where customers use Pinterest for ideas. It does not provide general web-search reach, and platform placement information alone does not establish comparative conversion performance. See Pinterest’s keyword targeting guide and targeting overview.

Etsy Ads: promote eligible listings in Etsy search
Etsy Ads can place products in designated Etsy search results. The option is relevant to sellers with eligible listings on Etsy, not to businesses seeking broad search-engine reach beyond the marketplace. See Etsy’s placement help.

- Match the channel to the search location. Choose Microsoft Search for broad search-engine intent; consider Amazon or Etsy when shoppers can buy the listed product in that marketplace; test Pinterest when relevant discovery happens around visual ideas.
- Check audience and geography. Confirm that customers in your market use the platform, and review which partner properties or placements the campaign can serve.
- Set up conversion measurement first. Use the same definitions for a qualified lead or completed sale across campaigns, and make sure you can identify which channel produced it.
- Run a bounded test before shifting substantial budget. Compare qualified leads or sales, conversion rate and cost per conversion using your own campaign data. Keep channels and reporting distinct enough to see where outcomes came from.
- Scale only on observed results. The official platform materials describe placements and features, but do not establish a neutral head-to-head cost, reach or return-on-ad-spend comparison. An alternative is not automatically cheaper or equivalent to Google Ads.
Availability, eligibility and distribution can vary with geography and campaign configuration, and platform features may change. Review the current account settings and reporting before making a budget decision.
