All One Farm, a property in McMinnville, Oregon, associated with Steve Jobs’s early life and work in an apple orchard, was listed for $5 million in June 2025. That was its initial asking price, not its latest recorded price: the linked listing showed a reduction to $2.75 million on April 28, 2026. Its current price and availability are unconfirmed.

What Oregon farm did Steve Jobs live on?

The farm is All One Farm, at 11890 SW Dupee Valley Road in McMinnville, according to the property listing. GeekWire reported on June 25, 2025, that Jobs lived and worked in an apple orchard there before starting Apple. The listing also describes Jobs as having stayed on the property.

The orchard’s association with Apple’s name is a reported anecdote, not proof that the farm alone inspired the company name. GeekWire attributes the naming account to Walter Isaacson’s biography Steve Jobs: while brainstorming names with Steve Wozniak, Jobs proposed “Apple Computer” because he wanted a name that was “fun, spirited, and not intimidating.” GeekWire’s June 2025 report recounts the story and its attribution.

GeekWire also reported that Jobs credited an LSD experience at the farm with expanding his creative vision, and that he met property manager Robert Friedland at Reed College. Those details are reported by GeekWire; the listing does not independently corroborate them.

What was listed, and how did the figures differ?

The 2025 report and the later listing page give different property measurements and descriptions. They should be read as figures from different sources and dates, not combined into a single definitive specification.

Source and date Acreage and parcels Home and other features Price information
GeekWire, June 25, 2025 387 acres across five parcels Remodeled 5,200-square-foot main house; barn with ballroom floor and outdoor kitchen; remodeled three-bedroom guest house; small red cabin where Jobs stayed Reported a $5 million listing
Windermere / RMLS listing, page checked June 30, 2026 351.27 acres; the description refers to four parcels and says parcels were marketed individually 5,260 square feet of listed living area; listing summary gives four bedrooms and four bathrooms; barn, greenhouse, and a cabin with water and electricity where Jobs stayed Price history records $5 million at listing, then reductions through $2.75 million on April 28, 2026

These differences matter if you are evaluating the property as real estate rather than reading it as a piece of Apple history. The acreage, parcel count, and house area depend on which source and listing snapshot you consult. The Windermere listing identifies the property as MLS #490824778 and includes the agent’s description of possible uses such as a homestead, retreat, hunting lodge, vineyard or winery, or investment.

How did the asking price change?

The Windermere page’s recorded price history shows a series of reductions after the original $5 million listing in June 2025. These are dated listing records, not an estimate of market value.

Date recorded Asking price
June 12, 2025 $5,000,000
August 19, 2025 $4,900,000
September 15, 2025 $4,800,000
October 8, 2025 $4,500,000
October 30, 2025 $4,250,000
January 22, 2026 $3,999,900
April 28, 2026 $2,750,000

The page says it was last checked June 30, 2026, when it showed the listing as active, and warns that the property may since have sold or become unavailable. That record does not establish the farm’s status or asking price as of October 2026. Anyone considering a purchase should verify current availability, price, parcel configuration, and property details with the listing source before relying on the older figures.
