Perth twin brothers were Western Australia’s first Set for Life Division One winners of 2025, Lotterywest announced on 18 February. One brother, an Albany retiree, bought the winning Slikpik 5 ticket at Clark’s Newsagency in Albany. The announcement’s reference to WA’s eleventh Division One win was a year-to-date count as of that date—not the final total for 2025.
Where the winning Set for Life ticket was bought
The brothers live in Perth, but the winning ticket was purchased in Albany. Lotterywest said the Albany retiree bought a Slikpik 5 entry at Clark’s Newsagency. The announcement did not say which brother checked the numbers, but one recalled checking them online, realizing they matched, and calling his twin.
“I don’t usually play Set for Life but for some reason I bought the ticket,” one brother said, according to Lotterywest’s 18 February 2025 announcement.
What the brothers said they plan to do
The twins said they planned to share the money, buy a home together, and spend more time fishing and with family. “We want to spend more time with our families and enjoy a slow pace of life,” they said. They also described the win as “absolutely life changing.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said it was special to have twins together in the Lotterywest Winner’s Room: “I’ve never had a set of twins together in the Lotterywest Winner’s Room, this was really special.”
What “WA’s eleventh Division One win” meant
Lotterywest’s 11 Division One wins and more than $8 million in prizes shared were figures reported “so far this year” in its 18 February 2025 announcement. They are not year-end totals. A December 2025 Lotterywest follow-up said the twins’ win was the first Set for Life Division One win in WA that year and that a second occurred in December. The two reports describe the Set for Life wins; the February figure counted Division One wins across Lotterywest games.

What Set for Life winners receive under current rules
Lotterywest’s current Set for Life rules describe Division One as $200,000 upfront plus $20,000 a month for 20 years, a total of $5 million per winner. The first monthly instalment is $220,000. If more than four winners qualify for Division One, the prize pool is shared, so the amount each winner receives may differ from the standard stated prize. These are current game terms, separate from the February 2025 news report.
Lotterywest lists Division One odds of 1 in 38,320,568 per standard game. One ticket enters seven consecutive daily draws. Prize details and odds are subject to Lotterywest’s rules and may change; consult its current Set for Life game page for the applicable terms.

A winning ticket is not a strategy
Lotterywest describes Set for Life as a game of chance and says no skill or strategy increases the chance of winning. The brothers’ choice to buy a Slikpik 5 ticket is part of their story, not evidence that a particular ticket type, number selection, or approach improves the odds.
