Alaska Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 MAX and continues to operate the aircraft, but the official records reviewed do not independently confirm that a particular delivery was the airline’s 12th. The milestone should therefore be treated as reported, not independently verified: no specific delivery date, registration or sequence is established here.

What is known about the reported 12th delivery

The supplied headline identifies the aircraft as Alaska’s 12th Boeing 737 MAX 8. Alaska uses the name “Boeing 737-8 MAX” for the type. Its current fleet page, with figures dated July 2026, lists the aircraft among its fleet types; that later snapshot establishes the type’s place in the fleet, not the count at the time of the reported delivery. Alaska’s fleet page

Alaska announced in December 2023 that it had taken delivery of its first 737-8. That announcement establishes the start of deliveries, but it does not verify the sequence number or identity of the aircraft in the headline. Alaska’s first-delivery announcement

How the delivery fits Alaska’s fleet plans

Alaska’s January 2026 fleet-order announcement said the airline already operated both 737-8 and 737-9 aircraft. It also announced orders for 105 Boeing 737-10 aircraft and five Boeing 787 aircraft. Those are planned additions, not evidence that those aircraft had already been delivered or that they are part of the reported 737-8 milestone. Alaska’s January 2026 order announcement

  • Purpose & Use – Perfect for collectors, aviation enthusiasts, or as a display piece, this snap-fit model assembles quickly without glue and includes a sturdy display stand
  • Perfect Size – At 1/200 scale, the model measures approximately 13 inches long with a 12 ½-inch wingspan—large enough to impress while fitting neatly on shelves or desks

The 737-8 is distinct from the 737-9 already in Alaska’s fleet and the 737-10 included in the later order. Alaska’s passenger aircraft page describes the 737-8 MAX configuration as First Class and Main Cabin; that is a general aircraft description, not confirmation of the cabin layout of the specific aircraft in the headline. Why the delivery count and timing need qualification

Aircraft delivery schedules can change. In its 2024 annual report, published in 2025, Alaska Air Group said some 737-8 aircraft contracted for delivery in 2024 and 2025 had shifted later within the contracted year or into the following year. That historical disclosure provides context for the fleet’s delivery timing, but it does not identify or date the aircraft described as the 12th delivery. Alaska Air Group’s 2024 annual report

The official materials cited here do not specify the reported aircraft’s registration, exact delivery date or place in the sequence. Without a direct delivery record for that aircraft, the “12th” count remains attributable to the originating report rather than independently confirmed.
