No verified current figure for Al Sharpton’s personal net worth is established by the public records reviewed here. National Action Network (NAN), the nonprofit he leads, reported paying him $465,000 in compensation for fiscal year 2024, but that is not a calculation of his personal wealth. NAN’s assets and property belong to the organization unless separate evidence establishes personal ownership.
Is Al Sharpton’s net worth publicly verified?
The available records do not provide Sharpton’s personal balance sheet, a verified valuation of his private business interests, or a calculation of his personal assets minus liabilities. Consequently, a precise current net-worth figure cannot be substantiated from these sources. There are no substantiated competing estimates here that can responsibly be compared or averaged.
Celebrity net-worth estimates should not be treated as audited figures unless they explain their date, method, and evidence for both assets and debts. The records discussed below address nonprofit compensation, organizational finances, and historical matters; none establishes Sharpton’s current personal net worth.
How much does Al Sharpton make?

Does National Action Network’s money belong to Al Sharpton?
No. NAN is a nonprofit organization, and its reported revenue, assets, liabilities, and property are organizational figures, not Sharpton’s personal holdings. For fiscal year 2024, NAN reported the following amounts in its filing:
| NAN figure | Fiscal year 2024 amount |
|---|---|
| Revenue | $10,596,390 |
| Expenses | $10,347,709 |
| Total assets | $3,708,355 |
| Liabilities | $2,290,827 |
| Net assets | $1,417,528 |
These amounts describe NAN’s finances for that fiscal year; its net assets are not Sharpton’s personal net worth. ProPublica’s NAN filing record identifies the organization’s Form 990 data.

In June 2026, the Associated Press reported that NAN had become the owner of its Harlem headquarters. The report described an organizational property and Sharpton’s aim for the institution to endure beyond him; it did not identify the headquarters as his personal asset. These are payments described in a campaign-finance matter, not a measure of current income, assets, or wealth. Read the FEC summary of MUR 5408.
Past tax liabilities
A 2011 NAN press release discussed Sharpton’s personal tax liabilities alongside the organization’s past financial difficulties. It does not establish his current tax balance or whether any liability remains. Read NAN’s 2011 statement.

Life-story rights and event proceeds
NAN said in 2019 that proceeds related to the purchase of Sharpton’s life-story rights and his birthday event would benefit the organization. That statement describes money directed to NAN; it is not a current accounting of Sharpton’s personal holdings or the present value of any rights. Read NAN’s statement about the proceeds.
