This is a historical technology story, not current buying advice. An InfoWorld archive entry dated December 2, 2007, credits David Marshall and says Akorri was targeting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with new packages and pricing for virtualization performance management. The same entry confirms that Migo had an announcement involving virtualization and portable devices, but does not reveal what product or technology that meant.
What Akorri was offering SMBs
Akorri sold virtual-infrastructure performance and capacity management software. The 2007 archive summary says the company was trying to reach more SMB buyers through packages and pricing aimed at that market; it does not provide specific prices, package names, or feature tiers. InfoWorld’s December 2, 2007 archive entry supplies the date, byline, and summary.
Later reporting helps explain the product category. In 2010, CRN described Akorri’s BalancePoint as analyzing across virtualization layers and technology silos, covering virtual and physical server and storage infrastructure. That description places BalancePoint in infrastructure performance and capacity analysis; it does not establish that the software remains available today. CRN’s 2010 account also characterized Akorri’s strategy at the time as channel-focused.
How Akorri used channel partners
Akorri’s SMB push was accompanied by a partner strategy. In October 2009, ChannelPro reported that the company’s PartnerPoint program had tiers and that its premier tier offered additional marketing and sales support, online education and certification, marketing resources, deal registration, and margin protection. These are historical program features, not current partner terms. ChannelPro’s October 28, 2009 report describes the program.

What “Migo goes virtual” does—and does not—tell us
The archive summary confirms only that Migo had a virtualization announcement involving portable devices. It does not identify the product or devices, explain what “virtual” meant technically, or say what storage or other media the product required. Without the full article, those details cannot be established from the indexed entry. The InfoWorld archive entry is the available source for that limited description.
How to read the headline today
| Headline clause | What the historical record supports | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Akorri reaches out to SMBs | In 2007, Akorri aimed packages and pricing for virtualization performance management at SMBs. Later coverage described BalancePoint as analyzing virtual and physical server and storage infrastructure. | Specific 2007 prices or package details, or current product availability. |
| Migo goes virtual with portable devices | Migo announced something involving virtualization and portable devices. | The product’s identity, technical design, supported devices, or required media. |
The headline is useful as a snapshot of a 2007 technology market, but it does not support a present-day product comparison or a recommendation to buy a portable device, storage product, or accessory.
