The company said the funding brought its total raised to $18 million and would help commercialize its no-code AI platform. That is a historical financing announcement, not a new 2026 round. Since then, Akkio’s public positioning has narrowed from AI analytics for businesses broadly to campaign and audience workflows for media agencies and data providers.
What happened in Akkio’s Series A?
Akkio announced the $15 million Series A on August 1, 2023. Bain Capital Ventures and Pandome, Inc. led the round, and the company said its total capital raised had reached $18 million. VentureBeat’s coverage and Akkio’s press archive identify the financing as a Series A.
Akkio said it planned to use the money to accelerate commercialization, expand its platform, and develop an AI assistant for people working with data. The cited coverage did not disclose a valuation, revenue, investor ownership stakes, or detailed financing terms. The $18 million total was reported by the company and VentureBeat; it implies an earlier $3 million in funding before the Series A.
What did Akkio’s platform do in 2023?
The 2023 product pitch was an end-to-end workflow for business data: prepare it, analyze it, build predictions, and put results to use without requiring users to write code. Akkio described a tool for analysts and businesses that wanted to work with data without relying on a dedicated data-science team for every task.

Prepare and explore data
Chat Data Prep let users give natural-language instructions for tasks such as combining columns, summarizing records, translating text, changing formats, and performing calculations. Chat Explore used GPT-4-assisted analysis to help users investigate data, find patterns, and create charts, according to VentureBeat’s report.
Visualize, predict, and deploy
The platform also generated charts, dashboards, and reports; supported forecasting for areas such as inventory, sales, and marketing performance; and offered no-code predictive modeling. Akkio cited possible applications including churn reduction, employee-attrition prediction, fraud detection, lead scoring, sales-funnel optimization, and content optimization. These were described product capabilities and use cases—not independently verified results or guarantees of forecast accuracy.

Contemporaneous coverage named Google BigQuery, HubSpot, Salesforce, Snowflake, and spreadsheet data among the integrations or sources available at the time. Why the no-code proposition mattered
Akkio’s pitch addressed a practical bottleneck: many organizations have business data but limited specialist capacity to prepare it, explore it, and build predictive models. Combining those steps in one analyst-oriented interface could make experimentation more accessible and reduce the need to commission a custom model for every question.
Rank #3
That is different from eliminating data work. A user still needs suitable, reliable data; a well-defined prediction target; validation against meaningful baselines; and appropriate review before outputs affect business decisions. Conversational analysis can produce plausible but unsupported explanations, and a convenient model-building interface cannot by itself detect leakage, bias, unstable data, or changing business conditions. A forecast also is not a causal recommendation.
What the funding announcement does—and does not—show
The round is best understood as capital intended to move Akkio’s product toward broader commercialization. It does not, by itself, establish product-market fit, a particular growth rate, model accuracy, or a measurable outcome from the investment.
Rank #4
In 2023, Akkio said it served hundreds of customers, from a two-person marketing shop to a multibillion-dollar freight-management company. It named Ellipsis Marketing, AngioDynamics, and Standard Industries as examples. Those customer and scale figures were company-provided, as reported by VentureBeat; they should not be read as independent validation of product performance.
How Akkio’s positioning has changed
Akkio’s current website emphasizes media agencies and data providers rather than a broad market of businesses seeking general-purpose no-code AI. Its listed workflows include campaign strategy, audience building and analysis, propensity modeling, media-mix modeling, audience activation, and performance measurement. The site also highlights embedded deployment, integrations, access controls, observability, and governance.

This shift suggests a more verticalized focus on media and advertising analytics; the available company materials do not quantify what that shift has meant for revenue, customer growth, or results. Akkio’s press page lists later announcements involving Havas and LG Ad Solutions, but those announcements alone do not establish the partnerships’ financial or operational impact.
Pricing has also changed in its public presentation. The 2023 announcement cited plans starting at $49 per month, a historical figure rather than a current quote. As observed on August 18, 2026, Akkio’s pricing page lists custom enterprise pricing and directs prospective buyers to contact sales. The company retains a “Try for Free” path on product pages, but the public pricing page does not display a self-serve price.

The relevant choice depends on the job to be done, the organization’s existing cloud environment, and how much control and governance it needs. The 2023 funding coverage named DataRobot, Google AutoML, Obviously AI, and Fritz AI as competitors or comparable companies. The following options are useful categories to consider, not a verified feature or pricing comparison:
- Akkio: Its current public focus is agency and data-provider workflows for campaigns, audiences, and measurement. That specialization may suit media organizations better than a team looking for a broad, open-ended machine-learning environment.
- DataRobot: A potential fit for organizations evaluating a broader enterprise AI and machine-learning lifecycle platform. DataRobot’s site is the place to assess its current offering.
- Cloud machine-learning platforms: Google Vertex AI and Microsoft Azure Machine Learning may suit organizations already invested in those cloud ecosystems and equipped to manage their infrastructure and permissions.
- Low-code predictive analytics: Obviously AI is a comparison to consider when the main need is straightforward prediction rather than Akkio’s current agency-oriented campaign workflow.
- Business intelligence: Tableau or Looker may be more appropriate when governed reporting and visualization matter more than predictive-model deployment.
For buyers, the practical questions go beyond whether a product is “no-code.” Confirm that it supports the data sources and deployment destinations you actually use; inspect permissions, auditability, retention, and governance; and test forecasts against historical baselines. Establish who reviews model outputs before they reach customers, campaigns, or operational systems, and clarify how pricing is calculated. A media agency may find Akkio’s current focus relevant, while a small business seeking transparent self-serve pricing or a general-purpose modeling environment may need to compare other options.
