The 32% discount was real, but it was historical. Amazon sold the USB-C Apple AirPods Pro 2 for $169 on February 14, 2025, versus Apple’s listed price of $249. The promotion was part of Amazon’s Presidents’ Day sale—not necessarily a markdown from Apple’s own store—and should be treated as expired unless a current retailer listing independently shows the same price.

Engadget reported that $169 was the best AirPods Pro 2 price seen during 2025 up to that point. It was not the lowest price previously cited: the same coverage mentioned a $154 holiday-season price. Therefore, $169 was a strong price, but not an all-time low.

Why the AirPods Pro 2 were worth considering
For iPhone owners, the AirPods Pro 2 combined strong sound quality with Apple’s ecosystem integration. Engadget praised their active noise cancellation, Transparency mode, sound, and Apple-device integration, giving them an 88 review score.
Apple lists active noise cancellation, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, Find My support, and a USB-C charging case. The earbuds are rated IP54 for dust, sweat, and water resistance. Battery estimates are up to six hours with active noise cancellation enabled, or up to seven hours without it; Apple says the case can provide up to 30 hours of total listening time with ANC.

Apple also lists Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, and Hearing Protection features. Availability depends on compatible devices, software, region, and regulatory authorization. Who should buy them?
- Good fit: iPhone, iPad, or Mac users who want ANC, an in-ear silicone-tip fit, secure wear, Spatial Audio, and Find My integration.
- Less suitable: Android-first shoppers, people who dislike sealed in-ear earbuds, or buyers who can get a newer Pro model for only slightly more.
- Worth waiting: shoppers paying materially more than $169 who do not need earbuds immediately.
Android devices can use the earbuds, but Apple-specific features and automatic ecosystem integration are less valuable outside Apple’s hardware and software ecosystem. The Pro 2 also launched in 2022, so its age matters when comparing it with newer models.

The same 2025 coverage reported standard AirPods 4 at $100, down from $129. That was a separate configuration; do not confuse it with AirPods 4 with ANC. Choose AirPods 4 if you dislike silicone tips or do not need strong noise cancellation. Choose the Pro 2 if commuting, travel, or noisy environments make ANC important.

How to evaluate a current listing
- Confirm the generation and case: verify that the listing is AirPods Pro 2 with the USB-C case, not an older Lightning-case version or another AirPods model.
- Check condition: distinguish new stock from used, renewed, or open-box inventory.
- Verify the seller: review the seller, fulfillment details, warranty eligibility, and return policy.
- Check checkout: coupons and promotional pricing may appear only after an on-page coupon is selected or at checkout.
- Compare the final price: calculate the discount against recent market prices, not just the stated $249 reference price.
- Be cautious with unusually low offers: confirm authenticity, serial information where applicable, and return protections before purchasing.
Retail prices, availability, sellers, and links can change quickly. An old deal link may redirect to a current product page or an unavailable listing, so the February 2025 price should not be presented as live.

At $169, the USB-C AirPods Pro 2 were a strong buy for Apple users who needed premium noise cancellation and an in-ear fit. The deal saved $80 from Apple’s $249 listed price, but it was still $15 above the $154 holiday price previously cited. At a substantially higher current price, compare newer AirPods Pro models and wait for another major promotion if you can.
