AirJapan was ANA Group’s international airline brand—not a separate subsidiary—and its branded flights ended in March 2026. The company behind those flights, Air Japan Co., Ltd., remains part of ANA Group and continues to operate ANA-branded services. The distinction matters if you encounter AirJapan in older travel information or see Air Japan Co., Ltd. listed as an operating carrier.

What was AirJapan?

AirJapan was a brand operated by Air Japan Co., Ltd., an ANA Group company that also operates ANA-branded flights. ANA Group announced the AirJapan brand on March 8, 2022, and the brand began flying in February 2024. Air Japan Co., Ltd. described the service as positioned between a full-service carrier and a low-cost carrier. Air Japan Co., Ltd.’s company history and overview

Although the title calls it a “subsidiary,” AirJapan was the name of the service brand; Air Japan Co., Ltd. is the continuing operating company. The company’s history reaches back to its establishment as World Air Network Co., Ltd. in 1990 and its renaming as Air Japan in 2000. It records adopting Boeing 787 aircraft in 2018. Air Japan Co., Ltd.’s company history and overview

Where did AirJapan fly?

AirJapan-branded service began on Narita–Bangkok on February 9, 2024. It added Narita–Seoul/Incheon on February 22 and Narita–Singapore on April 26, 2024. These dates mark the brand’s historical route launches, not routes currently offered under the AirJapan brand. Air Japan Co., Ltd.’s company history and overview

Is AirJapan still flying?

No AirJapan-branded service remains after the brand’s suspension in March 2026. ANA Group announced on October 30, 2025 that it would suspend the brand and consolidate its aircraft and personnel into ANA operations. It cited changes in the global and airline-industry environment, the need to optimize group resources, and Boeing 787 aircraft-on-ground issues. ANA Group’s October 30, 2025 strategy announcement

The final route operation dates and the corporate-history suspension date are not the same. ANA Group listed final operations on March 28 or 29, 2026, depending on the route and direction of travel. Air Japan Co., Ltd.’s history records March 31, 2026 as the date the AirJapan brand was suspended. ANA Group’s October 30, 2025 announcement; Air Japan Co., Ltd.’s company history

What continues under Air Japan Co., Ltd.?

The suspension ended the AirJapan brand, not the operating company. Air Japan Co., Ltd. says it will focus on operating ANA-branded flights and expand its network, primarily on existing routes in Asia and Oceania. ANA Group’s post-suspension strategy uses the ANA and Peach brands. Air Japan Co., Ltd.’s company overview; ANA Group’s strategy announcement
