Ag-Analytics announced on September 30, 2021, that it had acquired AcreValue from Granular, then described as a wholly owned subsidiary of Corteva Agriscience. The companies said the deal would pair AcreValue’s farmland data and field-value estimates with Ag-Analytics’ farm analytics and mapping. It was not the final ownership change: CoStar announced in February 2025 that it had acquired Ag-Analytics.
Who owned AcreValue before Ag-Analytics?
Before the 2021 transaction, AcreValue was part of Granular, which the acquisition announcement described as a wholly owned subsidiary of Corteva Agriscience. Ag-Analytics announced that it had acquired the platform on September 30, 2021. The announcement did not disclose a purchase price or detailed transaction terms. Ag-Analytics’ September 30, 2021 announcement is the primary source for the deal and its stated rationale.
Why did Ag-Analytics acquire AcreValue?
The stated strategic fit was to bring together different kinds of agricultural information and analysis. AcreValue focused on farmland values and productivity, while Ag-Analytics offered precision-farming analytics, sustainability metrics, and GIS mapping. Ag-Analytics said the combination was intended to help farmers and landowners assess and manage their land using connected analytics and services. Those were announced goals, not evidence that every planned integration or benefit was completed.
The announcement also named two strategic alliances: Farmer Mac in connection with lending services and Indigo Ag in connection with expanding carbon-farming opportunities. Those descriptions reflect the arrangements as announced in 2021; the available announcements do not establish whether each alliance remains active today.

What does AcreValue do?
AcreValue is a map-based web service that aggregates and analyzes data to provide farmland information and field-level value estimates. Its About AcreValue page describes inputs including soil, climate, crop rotation, tax, interest-rate, and corn-price data. The page says the service is available in all U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii, while its estimated values are listed for a more limited set of states: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Coverage and features can change, so check the current service for availability in a particular location.
AcreValue’s estimates are not appraisals. Its terms and conditions, last updated February 16, 2022, say the service does not include a physical or visual inspection and should not be treated as an official record or as the sole or primary source for investment or purchase decisions. For a consequential purchase, valuation, or lending decision, use appropriate professional review rather than relying on a platform estimate alone. The terms also say AcreValue is not itself acting as a real estate agent and disclose an affiliated brokerage relationship.

- SMART GNSS GUIDANCE & AB LINE PLANNING – Set your field boundary and working width, then let the system generate guidance lines, record driving tracks, and show real-time deviation alerts. Helps you keep straighter passes, reduce overlaps and skips, and work with more confidence in large fields
- MULTI-GNSS, MULTI-FREQUENCY POSITIONING – Supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS for stable satellite positioning in field operations. The large 9-inch display shows guidance lines, field boundaries, tractor position, and route direction clearly at a glance
- SAVE FIELDS & TRACKS FOR REUSE – Record, name, save, and recall multiple fields and task routes for repeat seasonal work. Easily return to previous field boundaries and guidance tracks for plowing, seeding, spraying, fertilizing, mowing, and other field tasks
- FAST SETUP & WIDE TRACTOR COMPATIBILITY – Designed for most tractors with a suitable metal mounting surface and cab window. The magnetic GNSS antenna mounts outside, while the suction-cup monitor bracket attaches inside the cab with no drilling required. Set up in about 3 minutes and move between machines when needed
- BUILT FOR REAL FARM CONDITIONS – The outdoor GNSS antenna is built to handle rain, dust, mud, and tough field environments, while the monitor stays protected inside the tractor cab. Clear on-screen guidance helps operators stay on track during long working days and low-visibility conditions
Who owns AcreValue now?
CoStar Group announced on February 14, 2025, that it had acquired Ag-Analytics. That makes the 2021 Ag-Analytics purchase a historical step, not the latest ownership milestone. CoStar said Land.com would incorporate AcreValue reports and analytics into applicable listings. The announcement describes a planned use of AcreValue’s capabilities; it does not establish that every listing includes the tools or that all integrations are complete. See CoStar’s acquisition announcement for its account of the later transaction.

- 2021: Ag-Analytics reported that AcreValue had several hundred thousand users per month at the time. This was a company-reported monthly figure in its acquisition announcement, not a current user count.
- 2025: CoStar reported 1.5 million registered AcreValue users and data on tens of millions of parcels. These are figures from CoStar’s February 14, 2025 announcement.
- Land.com plans: CoStar’s announcement described planned incorporation of AcreValue valuations for 2.8 million parcels of land. That figure refers to the announcement’s stated Land.com plan, not the total number of parcels in AcreValue’s data.
CoStar’s announcement also cited $355 billion in farm-sector real estate debt and described the farm real estate asset class as $3.4 trillion, with the latter figure stated by CEO Andy Florance. The announcement does not identify a separate statistical publisher or reference year for the debt figure, and Florance’s asset-class figure is a company statement rather than an independently audited statistic.
