Adrian Portelli’s November 2024 giveaway offered one winner a choice between the five-house Phillip Island resort featured on The Block and $8 million cash. The original winner chose the cash. The houses were later given to five different winners in a separate 2025 promotion, so the two giveaways were not the same draw.
What was Adrian Portelli’s original Phillip Island giveaway?
After buying all five homes from The Block’s 2024 Phillip Island season, Portelli announced in November 2024 that he would offer the properties through LMCT+. Nine reported that his announcement described a choice between the entire resort and $8 million cash. Nine reported Portelli’s phrase “world first” as part of his announcement; the reporting does not independently verify that claim.
The 2024 LMCT+ promotion page described the prize as five furnished homes or $8 million in “tax-free” cash and listed paid entry packages. That wording was advertising, not independent tax advice. Its stated draw date was November 29, 2024, so the page is a record of a past promotion, not evidence that entries remain open. The LMCT+ promotion page contains the historical offer details.
Who won the Block houses?
The original winner, Holly from Ballarat, chose the cash rather than the properties, according to realestate.com.au’s 2025 report. That meant the first draw did not transfer the homes. Portelli had reportedly paid $15.03 million for all five properties at the 2024 auction, according to the same report; that purchase price is distinct from the $8 million cash option.

Portelli later changed the format. In November 2025, five separate winners each received one of the houses through a new LMCT+ giveaway, as reported by realestate.com.au. In short, the answer to “who won the Block houses?” is five people in the later promotion—not the winner of the original cash-or-resort draw.
How did the two giveaways differ?
| Promotion | Winners | Prize format | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Original resort-or-cash offer | One winner | Choice of all five homes or $8 million cash | Announced November 2024; the LMCT+ page stated a November 29, 2024 draw date |
| Later house giveaway | Five winners | One house per winner | November 2025 |
Has one of the houses been sold?
Yes. The Phillip Island & San Remo Advertiser reported on August 12, 2026, that House 4 at 4/113 Justice Road, Cowes, had sold privately for $1,025,000 after initially being listed at a higher asking range. The paper also reported body corporate fees of $22,000 per dwelling per year. Those figures describe one reported sale and its associated fees; they do not establish the current value or ownership status of every house. The local newspaper’s report covers the transaction.

What remains unclear?
The reports establish the outcome of the original cash-or-resort offer, the later distribution of five houses and one reported private resale. They do not establish the current title status of all five homes or provide the complete legal and tax terms of either promotion. Readers should not treat the old LMCT+ page as a live entry offer.
