Acieta, a portfolio company of Angeles Equity Partners, acquired Capital Industries LLC in a deal that closed on July 24, 2024, and was announced on July 30. Capital is a Shelbyville, Indiana-based custom robotics and automation systems integrator. The transaction’s financial terms were not disclosed.
What happened in the Acieta–Capital Industries deal?
Angeles Equity Partners announced the acquisition on July 30, 2024, describing it as its fifth strategic acquisition in robotics integration. Transaction advisor Generational Group reported that the deal closed six days earlier, on July 24. Angeles Equity Partners’ announcement and Generational Group’s transaction notice identify the buyer and target; Angeles said the financial terms were not disclosed.

What does Capital Industries do?
Capital, headquartered in Shelbyville, Indiana, had been operating since 1999, according to Angeles. The firm builds and integrates custom robotic automation systems, with work spanning build-to-print projects and fabrication. Angeles cited in-house machining and electrical panel building; Acieta also listed material handling, assembly, feeding, testing, and control systems among Capital’s capabilities. Angeles’ release and Acieta’s announcement describe the businesses and services.
Generational Group also referred to Capital’s concrete and asphalt maintenance and repair products, but did not name specific products. The announcements therefore do not establish their models or current availability.

Why did Acieta and Angeles pursue the acquisition?
Angeles said Capital added material handling, assembly, testing, and control capabilities to the platform and extended its reach into medical and pharmaceutical, food and beverage, energy storage, consumer products, and aerospace and defense markets. Acieta separately highlighted Capital’s expertise in pharmaceutical and medical, aerospace and defense, solar, and battery markets. Those lists reflect each company’s own description and should not be treated as identical.
Acieta’s announcement framed the combination as a way to broaden customer reach and resources. Angeles described the purchase as part of its effort to build a scaled robotics integration platform. These are strategic rationales offered by the companies; the announcements do not report post-acquisition results.

In its 2024 release, Acieta said it had integrated more than 10,000 automation systems across North America and described the combined team as having more than 100 years of expertise. Both are company-reported figures, not independently audited measures. Acieta also described serving manufacturing markets including aerospace, agriculture, automotive, building products, consumer packaged goods, energy, heavy industry, and life sciences.
What has Angeles said about the combined platform since the deal?
On January 21, 2025, Angeles named Craig Ulrich CEO of Acieta and described a platform bringing together Acieta, Capital Industries, Mid-State Engineering, RōBEX, and +Vantage. Angeles said the group had more than 200,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space across six facilities. Its 2025 announcement gives that footprint figure; its portfolio page lists Acieta as a current investment and describes it as an industrial automation and robotics systems integrator. These are the latest dated or accessed statuses in those sources.

What the executives said
In the 2024 announcement, Acieta CEO David Carr said Capital was “highly regarded for its deep technical expertise in robotics automation systems integration.” Capital CEO Kent Colclazier said his team was eager to help lead what he called “the country’s most proficient robotics integration platform.” Angeles managing director Sam Heischuber said demand for sophisticated robotics automation systems “should only increase” as manufacturers face labor shortages and greater complexity. These remarks are company executives’ assessments and positioning, not independent findings about market demand or platform performance.
