On August 7, 2006, Achievo Corporation announced a definitive agreement to merge with Beijing Beifang Xinyu Information Technology Co., Ltd. (BBX), a Beijing-based software development and IT services provider. Achievo said BBX had 450 employees and that more than 90% of its revenue came from outside China; the release said BBX would become a wholly owned Achievo division once the merger was completed.
What Achievo announced
The August 7, 2006 announcement described a signed definitive agreement to merge, rather than reporting a completed transaction. Achievo said the planned division would operate from Beijing, Dalian, and Tokyo. BBX CEO Shiqing Wang was named as its planned general manager, with Wang and his management team expected to continue running the business. Achievo’s announcement, distributed via Kyodo PR Wire, does not state the purchase price or consideration.

Why the companies said the deal made sense
BBX’s Japan-facing outsourcing business
BBX provided software development and IT services, including offshore outsourcing work for Japanese companies. Achievo said BBX’s client relationships—including NEC, Nomura, Toshiba, and Hitachi—would strengthen Achievo’s presence in Japan. That was Achievo’s stated strategic rationale, not a measured post-merger result.
Workforce and international revenue
Achievo’s release described 450 BBX employees as joining the company and said more than 90% of BBX revenue came from outside China. Both figures are company statements in the 2006 announcement; the reviewed sources do not provide independent audit confirmation.

What happened to BBX afterward
BBX’s company history records its combination with Achievo in August 2006. In a BBX announcement dated October 1, 2012, Achievo Corporation was described as joining Beyondsoft, with the group becoming a Beyondsoft member. The sources reviewed do not give a separate closing date for the 2006 merger.
BBX’s current company profile describes services in areas including banking, insurance, securities, mobile communications, retail and logistics, manufacturing and control, and enterprise services, and says its work later expanded into big data, cloud, and IoT. Those present-day descriptions should not be treated as a complete inventory of BBX’s work in 2006.
BBX’s current organization page lists operations in Beijing, Tokyo, Dalian, Chengdu, Jinan, and Okinawa, and reports 440 employees for the Beijing entity. That current figure concerns a specific entity and is not directly comparable with Achievo’s 450-person workforce figure for the 2006 transaction.
