A Yahoo Finance model published October 6, 2026, estimated $50,925 in annual gross income from four equal $125,000 positions in VICI Properties (VICI), Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI), Ares Capital (ARCC), and AGNC Investment (AGNC). That is a snapshot based on the article’s stated forward yields—not a guaranteed income stream. In a Roth IRA, investment earnings can be withdrawn tax-free only when distribution rules are met; the phrase “the IRS gets none of it” needs that qualification.
How the $50,925 estimate is built
Chris Lange’s Yahoo Finance article models $125,000 in each of four securities, using the yields and projected annual income shown below. These are the article’s figures, not independently verified live quotes. The implied yield on the $500,000 portfolio is 10.185%, calculated as $50,925 divided by $500,000.
| Holding | Modeled allocation | Article-stated yield | Article-modeled annual income |
|---|---|---|---|
| VICI Properties (VICI) | $125,000 | 8.13% | $10,163 |
| Omega Healthcare Investors (OHI) | $125,000 | 5.87% | $7,338 |
| Ares Capital (ARCC) | $125,000 | 10.19% | $12,738 |
| AGNC Investment (AGNC) | $125,000 | 16.55% | $20,688 |
| Total | $500,000 | — | $50,925 stated headline total |
The four rounded income figures add to $50,927, two dollars more than the article’s stated $50,925 total. The discrepancy is small, but the total should not be presented as if it reconciles exactly to the displayed rounded components. The yield and income estimates depend on market prices and distributions, both of which can change. Yahoo Finance’s October 6, 2026 article is the source for the model.
What the four holdings mean for income risk
A high indicated yield does not by itself establish that a payout is secure. The article’s cited company-specific figures and commentary offer reasons to investigate the income stream and the underlying share-price risk, rather than treating projected payouts as fixed.

- VICI: The article cites a 25.77% year-over-year share-price decline, alongside annualized payout and AFFO guidance. A falling price can raise a quoted yield without increasing the cash distribution.
- OHI: The article notes a dividend increase and AFFO guidance. Those are not a guarantee that future distributions will continue at the same level.
- ARCC: The article says core earnings were below the cited quarterly dividend and refers to spillover income. That makes coverage and the source and availability of any supplemental earnings important questions.
- AGNC: The article describes current monthly distribution coverage but also notes that the monthly payout has been lower in the past. Its modeled income is the largest of the four positions, so changes to its payout would have a substantial effect on this portfolio’s projected total.
These are secondary-source claims, not a full issuer-level review or a risk-adjusted comparison. Before relying on any payout estimate, check the companies’ latest filings and investor-relations materials; the figures can become outdated as prices, results, and distribution announcements change.
When Roth IRA income can be tax-free
Dividends and other earnings inside a Roth IRA are not the same thing as a tax-free withdrawal in every circumstance. The IRS describes a Roth IRA as a tax-advantaged savings plan: contributions are not deductible, while qualified distributions may be tax-free. See the IRS overview of individual retirement arrangements.
Rank #2
For Roth IRA earnings, a distribution generally must satisfy both the five-year rule and a qualifying event to be qualified. The five-year period begins with the first tax year for which a contribution was made to a Roth IRA. Qualifying events generally include reaching age 59½, death, disability, or a qualifying first-home distribution. Earnings included in a nonqualified distribution may be taxable. The applicable rules and exceptions are explained in IRS Publication 590-B.
So the portfolio’s projected dividends are not automatically a $50,925 tax-free spending allowance. The Roth account’s treatment of investment income and the tax treatment of a withdrawal are separate questions. Roth contributions also receive no upfront deduction.

What a $500,000 Roth balance does—and does not—tell you
The balance in this model is not evidence that an investor can contribute $500,000 directly to a Roth IRA in one year. The IRS’s 2025 Publication 590-A states that the 2026 IRA contribution limit is $7,500, or $8,600 for someone age 50 or older. Direct Roth contributions also require taxable compensation and are subject to modified adjusted gross income limits. These annual limits do not explain how any particular account reached $500,000; contribution, rollover, and conversion history are separate matters. See IRS Publication 590-A.

The four-stock model should not be conflated with the article’s separate discussion of master limited partnerships (MLPs), including MPLX and Enterprise Products Partners (EPD). MLPs may issue Schedule K-1 tax reporting, and unrelated business taxable income can create tax inside an IRA. This is a specific caveat about MLPs, not a rule that all investments or distributions held in an IRA have identical tax treatment.

How to use the estimate
- Treat $50,925 as a reported model output, not a promised annual payment or a safe withdrawal amount.
- Check current share prices, distributions, payout coverage, and company filings before using the stated yields to plan income.
- Consider whether a portfolio concentrated equally in four high-yield securities fits your risk tolerance, diversification needs, and withdrawal timeline; the model does not establish suitability for an individual investor.
- Confirm Roth IRA distribution rules for your circumstances before assuming withdrawals of earnings will be tax-free.
