These are different activities, and none is a guaranteed wage or fixed cash return. “Paid” may mean receiving an in-game item or token—not spendable fiat income. How do Axie Infinity players get paid?
There are several reward paths, each with its own requirements and risks. Gameplay rewards depend on the mode, stamina, rank, season, or event rules. Staking requires holding and locking AXS. Marketplace proceeds depend on owning an asset that another player wants to buy.

These paths should not be compared as if they were equivalent investment yields. A player may spend time, buy assets, lock tokens, or take market risk, and the sources do not establish typical net earnings after those costs.
Gameplay rewards: stamina, check-ins, and the login calendar
Origins stamina limits stamina-based rewards
In Origins, each battle uses one stamina. Stamina replenishes daily at 03:00 UTC, with a maximum of 30 tied to the number of blockchain Axies a player holds. Once daily stamina is exhausted, stamina-based rewards stop; battles may still provide reduced rewards rather than stamina-based rewards. Sky Mavis explains this rule in its Origins stamina guide.

Check-in rewards and calendar rewards are separate
Check-in rewards start from a base amount and can be modified by rank and collectible-part bonuses. A missed check-in can be reclaimed within seven days by spending SLP, but the reclaimed amount is the base reward only; the bonuses are not restored. The login calendar is a separate system: its day-dependent rewards can include Moonshards, utility boxes, Charms, and Runes, and do not scale with collection size or Arena rank. Codex and Bounty Board: progress-based rewards
The Codex has a free path and paid Premier paths. Players progress by completing daily bounties; Premier access unlocks additional benefits and rewards. Each Premier path costs 4 bAXS, or 4 AXS if the player does not have enough bAXS. Weekly bounty rewards are distributed according to accumulated points, and the Bounty Board also offers additional rewards to the top 3,000 players, according to Sky Mavis’ Codex and Bounty Board guide, updated June 5, 2026.

This is a rules- and competition-based reward system, not an unconditional payment. Seasonal access, rewards, and eligibility can change, so check the live Codex before paying for a Premier path.
AXS staking: token rewards, not a promised cash yield
Axie describes staking as locking AXS to receive newly issued AXS rewards. It is distinct from gameplay: the player commits tokens rather than earning solely by completing battles or bounties. The official AXS page describes staking through the dashboard.

Sky Mavis’ timeline describes a November 2025 staking-reward distribution change under which rewards were planned to decrease by 5% every nine days. That is a dated description of an announced model, not a verified current APR or cash return. Check the live staking dashboard for current terms before locking tokens; the official whitepaper also cautions that development priorities and features may change.
Collectibles, crafting, and marketplace sales
Collectible Axies can qualify for special chests
Some collectible Axies can qualify for AXS-infused chests through active play, but eligibility depends on owning a qualifying collectible and reaching the specified rank for its era. The official guide lists Mystic, Origin, Xmas, Shiny, Japanese, and MEO Axies, with rank thresholds that vary by era. Consult the Collectible Axies overview for the applicable conditions.
Crafting items may or may not be tradable
Runes and Charms crafted with Moon Shards and SLP can be minted and traded among players. Some items crafted using only Moon Shards are sealed and cannot be minted or traded. Sky Mavis’ Crafting Guide also says that earning SLP and crafting are unavailable in the Google Play Store version of Origins.
Sales are not the same as profit
App.Axie lists digital marketplace assets including Axies, Runes, Charms, and land. Selling one may generate proceeds, but whether a sale is profitable depends on acquisition costs, fees, demand, and the value of the assets received. The official App.Axie overview does not establish typical player net income.

Why older SLP advice may be out of date
Sky Mavis’ official history says Origins SLP emissions ceased starting January 7, 2026. It also records a February 2026 Bounty Board rewards update, including increased leaderboard rewards and expanded leaderboard eligibility, as well as the arrival of bAXS and the movement of some ecosystem rewards to that token. Those changes make dates and game versions important when assessing older play-to-earn advice. The timeline is useful for history, but it is not a live reward calculator: see Sky Mavis’ Axie history.
How to judge an Axie reward path
- Asset or capital required: Staking requires AXS; some Codex paths require bAXS or AXS; collectible rewards require an eligible Axie.
- Time and skill: Battles, bounties, and rank thresholds require play and may depend on competitive performance.
- Reward type: A token, in-game item, chest, or marketplace sale proceeds are not interchangeable with cash.
- Eligibility: Check stamina, season, rank, collectible era, platform, and current rules before counting on a reward.
- Liquidity and market exposure: A token or NFT’s value can change, and a marketplace listing does not guarantee a sale.
- Net result: Subtract purchases, fees, and other costs and account for time spent; no representative typical net income is established by the official materials cited here.
For personal-finance purposes, treat gameplay rewards as conditional and variable, staking as exposure to a token-denominated reward, and NFT sales as market transactions. Do not budget any of them as a dependable wage.
