Check the official FuelWatch listing for your suburb and fuel grade before setting off, then confirm the price at the bowser.
Where was the cheapest Unleaded 91 in Perth?
FuelRadar listed Burk Cannington at 217.3 c/L as Perth’s lowest U91 station price on 8 October 2026. The same listing reported a Perth U91 daily average of 245.9 c/L that day. FuelRadar says station and source update times vary, so treat both numbers as a dated comparison rather than live guarantees. FuelRadar’s Perth price listing is a secondary source; use the official FuelWatch service to check current local prices.
The lowest citywide listing may not be the cheapest practical option for you. Compare stations near your suburb or route and select the grade your vehicle requires; a detour can outweigh a small per-litre difference.
Will Perth petrol prices spike on Wednesday?
Wednesday has often been a high point in Perth’s familiar petrol-price cycle, but it is not a guarantee that every station will raise prices on that day. The ACCC says Perth’s average cycle duration was around one week in 2025. Its displayed five Perth cycles from May to June 2026 each peaked on Wednesday, after reaching a low on Tuesday. The regulator cautions that cycle duration varies and historical data only suggests which days may be cheaper or more expensive in future. Not all retailers participate. The ACCC’s explanation of petrol price cycles describes the pattern this way: “Prices can increase sharply over a short period, then decrease gradually over a longer period before the process repeats.”

The 8 October FuelRadar snapshot also shows why a weekday headline needs context: its reported Perth U91 daily average rose from 230.1 c/L on Wednesday 7 October to 245.9 c/L on Thursday 8 October. That is a dated city-average comparison, not proof that every retailer moved together or that the same pattern will recur.
How to check today’s and tomorrow’s prices
- Open FuelWatch and search by suburb or use its map.
- Choose the fuel grade your vehicle needs, such as U91, premium unleaded, E10 or diesel.
- Compare nearby stations’ notified prices and check whether you are viewing today’s price or tomorrow’s.
- Check the listing’s update information where available, and confirm the displayed price at the bowser before filling.
In most of Western Australia, retailers must notify FuelWatch of the following day’s prices by 2pm. Those prices are published from 2:30pm, take effect at 6am and must remain in place for 24 hours. FuelWatch states: “Retailers must stay at the notified price from 6am for 24 hours.” Check the service directly for the applicable listing and price window.

How much could comparing prices save?
FuelWatch says motorists could save up to 30 c/L on any given day—equivalent to $18 on a 60-litre tank. This is the service’s illustration of potential savings, not a guaranteed saving or a current observed average. Your actual saving depends on the stations available to you, the grade, and the prices when you buy.
A separate WA Government alert dated 31 March 2026 used a 59 c/L difference between the cheapest and most expensive sites that day as an example—$35 on a 60-litre tank. That is historical, not a present-day saving estimate. The alert also noted that sites around Perth and Mandurah could lower, raise or hold prices around the same date, illustrating why nearby listings matter more than assuming every retailer follows one schedule. Does the Wednesday timing advice apply to diesel?
The ACCC’s buying tips for Australia’s largest cities concern regular unleaded petrol. It says the pattern may apply to other unleaded grades because their prices tend to move similarly, but it does not provide equivalent cycle buying tips for diesel. For diesel, compare current local listings rather than assuming the U91 weekday pattern applies.
