Is PGCIL recruitment 2024 still open?
No. The online application window ran from October 16 through November 6, 2024. This was a past recruitment, not an active vacancy to register for now. POWERGRID’s current employment listing was updated on October 7, 2026, but that does not reopen this PESL notice or imply that other POWERGRID opportunities are unavailable. The posts were for Trainee Engineer (Electrical) at POWERGRID Energy Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of POWERGRID. Education
Candidates needed a full-time B.E., B.Tech, or B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in Electrical Engineering or an accepted equivalent electrical discipline from a recognized university or institute, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. Named disciplines included Electrical, Electrical (Power), Electrical and Electronics, Power Systems Engineering, and Power Engineering (Electrical).
GATE score
A qualifying score in the GATE 2024 EE paper was required. The qualifying marks were those declared by the GATE 2024 organizing body.

Age
The upper age limit was 28 years as of November 6, 2024, with category-based relaxations described in the advertisement. Eligibility for an individual depends on their date of birth and applicable category rules; the notice should be consulted for those details.
What were the training and pay terms?
The advertisement specified one year of training and a training pay scale of ₹30,000–₹1,20,000, plus IDA, HRA, and perks at 12% of basic pay per month. These are terms from the 2024 notice, not a current offer; see the official advertisement for the full conditions.

Why do some 47-post results mention Civil engineers?
A separate POWERGRID/CTUIL recruitment through GATE 2024 listed 47 Civil Engineer Trainee vacancies at POWERGRID, with applications closing July 4, 2024. That was a different notice from PESL’s 47 Electrical trainee posts, which required the GATE EE paper and closed November 6, 2024. Compare the recruiting entity, discipline, application dates, and GATE paper rather than matching vacancies by number alone. See POWERGRID’s separate GATE 2024 vacancy notification.
