The NCET 2025 provisional answer key was released on 20 May 2025, but the objection window closed on 22 May 2025. Candidates can no longer submit a challenge under that notice. NTA later published the final keys on 13 June and declared results on 16 June 2025.

What NTA released on 20 May 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2025 on 29 April in two shifts across India. Its 20 May notice said about 54,470 candidates appeared. NTA made the provisional answer keys, question papers and candidates’ recorded responses available on its official websites for those who took the exam.

The notice and candidate-specific materials were available through the official NCET website.

NCET 2025 objection deadline and fee

Candidates could challenge the provisional key from 20 May through 22 May 2025. The deadline to submit a challenge was 11:00 p.m. IST on 22 May; the separate payment deadline was 11:50 p.m. IST that night. NTA charged ₹200 for each question challenged. The fee was non-refundable, and NTA said challenges would not be accepted through any other medium or without payment.

Action Deadline or fee
Submit a challenge 11:00 p.m. IST, 22 May 2025
Pay the challenge fee 11:50 p.m. IST, 22 May 2025
Fee ₹200 per question challenged; non-refundable

The challenge cutoff came 50 minutes before the payment cutoff. The later payment time did not extend the deadline to submit a challenge.

How candidates challenged an answer

NTA’s instructions described an online process through the NCET portal:

  1. Log in with the application number and date of birth, then enter the displayed security pin.
  2. Select “View/Challenge Answer Key.”
  3. Select the question and option to challenge. Candidates could upload supporting documents together in one PDF.
  4. Review the claims and save them before paying the applicable fee. NTA said a claim could not be modified after payment.

How NTA reviewed objections

Subject experts reviewed the submitted challenges. NTA said a correction found valid would be made to the answer key and applied to all candidates who attempted the affected question, not just the person who raised the objection. The expert-reviewed final key was to be treated as final. NTA did not promise individual notifications about whether a candidate’s challenge was accepted.

For bilingual papers, NTA said the English version would prevail if there was a translation discrepancy, except for Language Test papers.

Final NCET 2025 answer key and result

In its June 2025 notice, NTA reported receiving 191 challenges covering 124 questions across 19 subjects. Following expert-panel recommendations, answer keys for three questions were updated. NTA said the final answer keys were published on 13 June 2025 and NCET results, or NTA Scores, were declared on 16 June 2025. The later notices are listed on the NCET website.
