The Boeing St. Louis-area strike is over: about 3,200 IAM District 837 members ratified a new contract on November 13, 2025, according to the union. The walkout began August 4. The parties resumed mediated negotiations in October, after weeks of stoppage and an earlier union-ratified proposal that Boeing had not accepted.
Is the Boeing St. Louis strike still going on?
No. IAM announced on November 13, 2025, that about 3,200 District 837 members had ratified a new contract, ending the strike. The union said workers would begin returning to work on November 16. The strike had started August 4.
The November announcement establishes that members ratified a contract and the stoppage ended. The available announcements do not set out the complete final contract terms, so the earlier proposals should not be treated as a definitive description of the agreement.
When did negotiations resume?
The bargaining process returned to federal mediation in October 2025. IAM said on September 26 that the bargaining committees had agreed to return to negotiations with federal mediation. On October 17, the union reported that both sides had accepted an offer from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) to resume mediation, with sessions scheduled to begin October 20.

This was a step in the sequence, not the end of the dispute: the strike continued until members ratified a contract in November.
What did workers and Boeing have on the table?
Union announcements and Boeing’s offer summary describe parts of the bargaining, but they do not establish a complete, like-for-like account of the final contract. The distinction between a union-ratified proposal and an agreement accepted by both parties matters.

| Wages | Boeing’s October 23, 2025 revised-offer summary proposed a 20% general wage increase over four years: 8%, followed by three increases of 4% each. | This was Boeing’s offer figure, not confirmation of the final contract’s wage terms. |
| Retirement contributions | IAM said its September proposal sought to align 401(k) contribution percentages with those of Boeing employees elsewhere. | This describes the union’s proposal; the available announcements do not establish the final contribution terms. |
| Top-of-scale wage treatment | IAM said its September proposal sought improved wage treatment for members at the top of the pay scale. | This is the union’s description of its proposal, not a verified final-contract provision. |
| Ratification bonus | IAM said its September proposal included a compromise on the ratification bonus. | The proposal description does not establish the bonus in the final agreement. |
On September 19, IAM said members had ratified a union-proposed four-year settlement offer. That vote did not itself end the strike: the union said Boeing still needed to accept the offer, and workers remained on strike. The later November ratification was the announcement that ended the stoppage.

On October 16, IAM said it had filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board, alleging Boeing refused to bargain in good faith. That is the union’s allegation; the announcements cited here do not establish an NLRB finding.
