Nabil’s Lebanese Sweets, also known as Nabil’s Acai Station, drew queues to its Ballajura shop after adding its take on Dubai chocolate in January 2025. PerthNow reported that the family business’s new product—developed by Mahmoud Rahal after he encountered the trend on TikTok—helped bring a wave of customers in February 2025. That coverage captures a moment in the shop’s story, not its current menu or stock.
How a family sweets business joined the Dubai chocolate trend
Nabil’s Lebanese Sweets had been selling Lebanese sweets, including baklava, for more than 15 years when PerthNow profiled the business in February 2025. The family had also launched an acai business the previous year. In January 2025, Mahmoud Rahal added Dubai chocolate products after discovering the viral treat on TikTok.
Rahal told PerthNow that he refined the shop’s version through repeated attempts: “After lots of trials we worked out the best recipe.” He said the chocolate was initially intended as an extra menu item, but became much more central: “It was meant to be a little extra thing to our menu and now it is the menu!”
What is in Dubai chocolate?
In the coverage, Dubai chocolate is a chocolate bar filled with knafeh pastry and pistachios. Knafeh is a Middle Eastern pastry; inside the bar, it contributes a crisp, layered texture alongside the nutty filling. The sources describe the broad combination, not a verified, exact recipe for Nabil’s bar.

PerthNow reported in February 2025 that Nabil’s range included the bar, brownies filled with Dubai chocolate, and Dubai-chocolate-filled acai. A later local guide also mentioned a strawberry cup. These are reported menu items from those publications, not confirmation of what the shop sells now.
Why the Ballajura shop attracted attention
PerthNow connected social media posts about the product with a sharp rise in customers. Rahal said that a TikTok account’s feature brought long queues and that the shop had sold out of stock the previous weekend. He told the publication, “We were shocked,” and said, “We sold out of all stock last weekend and are just trying to keep up with demand.” Those comments describe the February 2025 rush; they do not establish present-day demand or availability.

What published prices and reviews tell you
Prices in published coverage differ, and neither should be treated as a current quote. PerthNow’s May 2025 taste test listed the shop’s large bar at $28. Urban List Perth listed a homemade bar at $25; its result did not expose a publication date. The reports do not provide a reliable weight comparison, so the figures alone do not show which bar offered better value.
The PerthNow reviewer described the large bar as layered with chocolate, knafeh pastry and pistachios, and characterized the taste as sweet and salty with a crunchy texture. That is the reviewer’s impression, not the result of a controlled comparison. The available reporting does not establish a blind test against imported bars or a definitive comparison of pistachio intensity, filling balance or crunch.

Because the available coverage is historical and third-party menus can change, confirm the address, hours, current menu, stock and ordering options directly with the business before making a trip.
