Neither boxer’s official purse is disclosed in the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s result record. Fight-day media estimates put Naoya Inoue’s pay at about $7 million to $8 million and Ramon Cardenas’s at $1 million to $1.5 million, but those figures are projections—not confirmed payments.
What were the reported purse estimates?
The two reports agree on Cardenas’s estimated range but differ slightly on Inoue’s. Neither establishes what the fighters ultimately received.
| Report | Inoue estimate | Cardenas estimate | Certainty |
|---|---|---|---|
| DraftKings Network, May 4, 2025 | $7–7.5 million | $1–1.5 million | Expected purse; the article attributed Inoue’s estimate to Sportskeeda. |
| Sporting News, May 4, 2025 | $7.5–8 million | $1–1.5 million | Projection; the article said final purse numbers were not available. |
The difference between the Inoue estimates is modest, but it is a reason to preserve the reported ranges rather than quote one exact figure.
Did the commission confirm either fighter’s pay?
No purse amount appears in the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s May 4, 2025 bout record. The document confirms the fight and its result, but it does not state either boxer’s compensation. The media figures should therefore be described as estimates, not official purse disclosures.

What happened in the fight?
Inoue and Cardenas fought on May 4, 2025, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The commission record says Inoue won by TKO at 0:45 of round eight and retained the listed IBF, WBA, WBC, and WBO super bantamweight titles.
MGM Resorts’ March 12, 2025 event announcement identified Top Rank as promoter, in association with Ohashi Promotion, Teiken Promotions, and Sampson Boxing. The event announcement provides context for the matchup, not evidence of either fighter’s pay.
