What EA has confirmed
On March 9, 2026, EA told PC Gamer it had made selective changes within its Battlefield organization. PC Gamer reported that teams at Criterion, DICE, Ripple Effect, and Motive were affected; the number of employees was not disclosed and was described as unknown. PC Gamer’s report quoted an EA spokesperson: “We’ve made select changes within our Battlefield organization to better align our teams around what matters most to our community.”
PC Gamer also characterized the cuts as a realignment as Battlefield 6 development shifted toward live-service support. That is reporting context; EA’s quoted statement did not give a more specific reason. The March changes are the confirmed layoffs in the reporting cited here, not evidence of a disclosed company-wide reduction.

How to read EA’s earlier job assurance
While the acquisition was proposed, EA’s employee FAQ said: “There will be no immediate changes to your job, team, or daily work, as a result of this transaction.” The FAQ addressed immediate transaction-related changes at that earlier point. It was not a continuing guarantee against later job cuts.

So, has EA announced more layoffs?
The material cited here does not establish a further layoff announcement after the March 2026 Battlefield changes. That is different from proving that no further cuts occurred: later employee accounts and cost-reduction reporting raise questions but do not answer them. The March headcount also remains undisclosed in the cited reporting.
