Mosaic Brands, the group behind Katies, Millers, Noni B, Rivers and Autograph, entered voluntary administration on 28 October 2024. That was not yet liquidation: on 1 July 2025, creditors voted to put the companies into liquidation, and the administrators became liquidators. The distinction matters because administration was the restructuring process; liquidation is the outcome creditors later chose.
What happened to Mosaic Brands?
Mosaic’s board appointed FTI Consulting administrators on 28 October 2024 after recent attempts to restructure the business informally. In the company’s announcement, the board said voluntary administration was “the most appropriate way to restructure the Group.” Mosaic Brands’ 28 October 2024 announcement records the appointment.
Separately, the group’s senior secured lender appointed KPMG receivers and managers. Receivership and voluntary administration were distinct appointments: the former was made by the lender, while the board appointed the administrators. The contemporaneous report also relayed KPMG’s reference to structural challenges and disruptions involving suppliers and inventory management. Those comments, and the company’s stated restructuring rationale, describe factors raised at the time; they do not establish a single definitive cause of the collapse. What does liquidation mean for customers and creditors?
Liquidation is the formal status recorded for the companies following the creditors’ resolution. The available announcements establish the appointment and date, but do not establish the final amount or timing of creditor distributions. They also do not confirm the current trading status of each brand, store or customer channel. A historical brand association with Mosaic alone cannot answer whether a particular brand or service is operating now.
