Air Data News identified the aircraft as registration A7-AOE. Airbus’s latest published count located here puts A350-1000 deliveries at 110 by the end of March 2026, so the 100th-aircraft handover is a 2025 milestone—not the current fleet total.
This was not the same event as Airbus’s 2017 announcement of its 100th A350 XWB: that aircraft was an A350-900 delivered to China Airlines.
What was the 100th A350-1000 milestone?
Air Data News reported that Qatar Airways received the 100th A350-1000 on 13 August 2025 and identified it as A7-AOE. The report, published on 8 September 2025, is the source for the specific aircraft, recipient and handover date: Air Data News’s account of the delivery. Airbus’s cited materials confirm later cumulative delivery figures, but do not themselves identify this Qatar handover as the 100th -1000.
Why the 2017 “100th A350” was a different aircraft
Airbus announced in July 2017 that it had delivered its 100th A350 XWB. That aircraft was an A350-900 for China Airlines, not an A350-1000. “A350 XWB” refers to the aircraft family; “A350-1000” names one variant within it. The two milestones therefore count different things, eight years apart. Airbus’s 2017 announcement documents the family-wide milestone.

How many A350-1000s had Airbus delivered by March 2026?
In its April 2026 family factsheet, Airbus reported 710 A350-family deliveries by the end of March 2026, including 110 A350-1000s. The factsheet also listed 854 A350-family aircraft in backlog at that date. These are Airbus’s cumulative figures, not a count of aircraft delivered during March alone. A separate Airbus Annual Review reports 1,529 A350-family orders and 699 deliveries as of 31 December 2025. That year-end snapshot predates the March 2026 factsheet, so its delivery count is lower. It should not be mistaken for the A350-1000-only total. Airbus Annual Review 2025.

What distinguishes the A350-1000?
The A350-1000 is the longer, higher-capacity passenger version of the A350. Airbus lists its length as 73.78 metres and its wingspan as 64.75 metres. Compared with the A350-900, Airbus describes it as about seven metres longer and capable of accommodating up to 40 more passengers. It uses the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engine; the -900 uses the Trent XWB-84.
Airbus lists 375–400 seats in a typical three-class layout and a maximum certified seating capacity of 480. Those figures describe configurations and certification, not the number of seats in every airline’s cabin. The manufacturer’s published range is 9,100 nautical miles; it is not a guaranteed distance for a particular route, since aircraft configuration and operating conditions matter. What the delivery milestone says—and does not say
A 100th delivery is a production and delivery milestone for one aircraft variant. It does not, by itself, establish how many of those aircraft a particular airline operates today, how frequently they fly, or how they perform financially. For broader context, Airbus’s 2026 Annual Review states that the A350 family entered service in 2015 and reports a 25% reduction in fuel burn per seat compared with previous-generation aircraft. That percentage is Airbus’s manufacturer comparison, not an independently established result for every airline or route.
The same review says the first A350-1000ULR rolled off the assembly line in November 2025 for subsequent testing. Airbus describes the ultra-long-range variant as developed for Qantas and intended to enable longer nonstop services; this production update is distinct from the Qatar Airways delivery milestone.
