Cassandra Curtis and Ari Raz started the business in 2015; Jennifer Garner and food-industry executive John Foraker joined in 2017. The company calls Garner a co-founder and says she has served on its board. Its 2025 filing reported $240.7 million in net sales, and the company completed an initial public offering in February 2026.
Who founded Once Upon a Farm, and how did Jennifer Garner get involved?
Cassandra Curtis developed recipes for her daughter after she felt supermarket baby-food options did not meet her standards. Curtis and Ari Raz began Once Upon a Farm in 2015 with baby food. In 2017, they brought in John Foraker, a consumer-packaged-goods executive, and Jennifer Garner as the business expanded its ambitions in children’s food and nutrition.
Garner is part of the company’s founding story, but she was not one of the two people who started the business in 2015. Once Upon a Farm describes her as a co-founder and board member. Its 2025 Form 10-K identifies Foraker as a longtime Annie’s leader and former president of General Mills’ Annie’s operating unit.
What does Once Upon a Farm sell?
The company’s core categories are food pouches and snacks for babies and children. Its investor-relations overview describes a broader range that includes cold-pressed fruit and vegetable blends, freshly frozen plant-rich meals, refrigerated oat bars, and pantry-ready snacks. The product formats span different ages and storage needs, rather than one single kind of baby food.

What is the new Electrolyte Blends line?
On October 5, 2026, Once Upon a Farm announced organic Electrolyte Blends pouches aimed at older, active children. The company described them as a snack for everyday routines, not as a medical product. The release explicitly states: “Product not designed for medical rehydration or sustained energy.” They should not be treated as a remedy for dehydration or as equivalent to a medical rehydration product.

What the company’s growth does—and does not—show
Once Upon a Farm has grown from a baby-food venture into a broader children’s food portfolio, and its SEC filing documents substantial reported sales and a completed public offering. Those facts help explain the business’s scale and financing milestone. They do not establish that the company is profitable, that every product delivers a particular health benefit, or that its shares will perform well. Investors evaluating the company should consult its SEC filings for financial risks and current disclosures rather than treating brand visibility or sales growth as a complete investment case.
