To choose when an eligible Amazon order is due, select FREE Amazon Day Delivery at checkout and choose one of the weekdays offered. Amazon Day lets eligible Prime customers set a preferred weekday; it does not guarantee delivery on any calendar date you choose. The date shown for the order at checkout is the one to rely on.
How to choose an Amazon delivery day

Sign in to the Amazon marketplace where you shop and add the item to your cart.

Go to checkout, then select the delivery address and payment method.

Amazon describes Amazon Day as a free option in its US consumer guide and UK help page. Other Prime delivery choices remain available in the cited guidance, so compare the displayed dates if getting the order sooner matters more than choosing a preferred weekday.
What “exact delivery day” means
Amazon Day is a choice of an offered weekday for eligible deliveries, not a way to book any date on the calendar or guarantee that every order will arrive on that weekday. Amazon shows the option only when the shipment qualifies and the day is available. Holidays and delivery-affecting conditions, including weather, can affect availability.

If Amazon Day does not appear, check the delivery address and the item’s fulfillment details, then use the delivery choices shown at checkout. Eligibility varies by marketplace and is assessed item by item; checkout is the practical check for a particular order.
Eligibility and marketplace-specific limits
Amazon’s US guide says most Prime-eligible items shipped by Amazon qualify. The UK help page gives more specific exclusions for its marketplace: orders fulfilled by third-party sellers, addresses outside eligible UK postcodes or outside the UK, Amazon Key deliveries, hazardous-material shipments, pickup locations, and PO boxes may be ineligible. The UK page also notes that other items can be excluded. These UK details should not be treated as a worldwide eligibility list.

Timing rules can differ too. Amazon UK says an Amazon Day order can typically be placed up to one day before the chosen day; that timing should not be assumed for other marketplaces.

Amazon says customers can change their preferred Amazon Day later. In the UK guidance, the preference can be changed at checkout or on the Amazon Day page. Changing the preference does not retroactively alter orders already placed.

For an Amazon Day order that has not dispatched, the documented UK route is Orders → find the order → View or edit order → Change Delivery Speed. This control is described for the UK and for an undispatched order; it may not appear for every marketplace, shipment, or order state.
Amazon Day can reduce packaging, but not guarantee one parcel
Amazon Day is intended to group deliveries and reduce packaging. Amazon reports that Amazon Day orders used an average of 20% fewer boxes than its other delivery options in 2024, according to its US consumer article. That is Amazon’s company-reported average comparison, not an independent measurement or a promise about a particular order. Separate boxes may still be used, depending on item location, size or weight, and delivery capacity, as Amazon Business explains in its business guidance.
Amazon Business scheduling is a separate feature
Household Amazon Day is the weekly checkout option described above. Amazon Business also offers administrator-set weekly delivery preferences, while eligible business buyers can choose FREE Amazon Day Delivery at checkout. These business settings are described in Amazon’s Amazon Business guide and business announcement.
Separately, Amazon announced a scheduled consolidated delivery option for eligible large purchases by US Prime Business members, with scheduling up to 30 days ahead as rollout proceeds in early 2026. This is a business-only, rollout-dependent capability, not an assured option for household accounts or every business account.
