For a Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, check your application on SASSA’s official SRD website. For information and services about other grants, use the SASSA Services Portal. Your SRD result may relate to a particular month: an approved period is not proof that payment has been processed, so check whether a pay-day is shown.
How do I check my SASSA SRD status online?
- Open SASSA’s official SRD website.
- Use the status-check option for your own application and enter the information requested by the live page. The available official status-guide result shows an identity-number input, but does not establish every field or step the current interface may require. Follow the instructions displayed on SASSA’s site rather than a third-party checker.
- Read the result for the relevant period, then follow the action associated with that status below.
Use the SRD site for SRD application status. If your question concerns an older persons, disability, care dependency, foster child, child support, or grant-in-aid service, start at the SASSA Services Portal, which provides grant information, application guidance, and personal-profile registration for services.
What does each SASSA SRD status mean?
SASSA’s status guide uses the following labels and directions. The guide is titled “Social Relief of Distress Grant of R350 application status”; it is useful for interpreting these terms, but it does not establish that every current screen or programme rule is unchanged.

These labels and directions describe the status guide; they do not guarantee eligibility, a payment date, or the outcome of a reconsideration or reinstatement request.

Approved, but when will SASSA pay?
“Period approved” means approval for that period; it does not by itself mean the payment has been processed. Check the pay-day field in the status result. According to SASSA’s guide, if that field has no date, payment has not yet been processed. The sources available here do not establish a current payment calendar, so rely on the live status result or contact SASSA rather than assuming a date.
What if the status page is unavailable?
SASSA’s online-services portal has displayed a maintenance notice, showing that interruptions can occur; it does not establish that the service is currently down. If the official page does not load, try again later. Do not switch to an unofficial site that asks for your identity or banking information.

SASSA lists 0800 60 10 11 for questions about payment dates, grant qualification rules, district-office contacts, applications, and reporting suspected fraud. SASSA says calls are toll-free from landlines; calls from a cellular phone may incur charges. Contact details and service availability can change, so check SASSA’s official contact page for current information.

SASSA’s declaration asks applicants to provide valid, accurate, complete, and current information and to keep their contact number current. Never post your identity number, bank details, or application credentials in a public comment or message.
